Yeah, I was of the opinion that he was only a top prospect because the cupboard was looking rather bare in New York. Definitely leads me to believe he'll be another year before he sees more than a few games at least.

Signs with a team on the decline and a relatively weak F group. How could he pass up playing in a top 6 with Crosby / Malkin or Toews / Kane? A good fit on a weaker option, we will see how this plays out.

Other than being closer to home, I don't get it.
The Rangers will pay the same as the other teams so financially it's a wash.
The Rangers are no closer to a Cup than most other teams on his list.
Vesey won't get top 3 minutes in NY.
In addition, the cost of living is higher in NYC than most other places.

I'd assume that's one of the reasons he signed there, but I just don't get the quality of those top 6 minutes versus what other teams were probably offering. Who knows if he even sticks there?

He likely slots in top six with the Rangers, which is probably the same as anywhere
No closer to the Cup, but no further either (other than Chi or Pitt, but who knows what they told him)
Cost of living?!?!? He's a millionaire playing a game for a living in one of the greatest cities in the world. TBH, I'd choose NYC over Chicago or Pittsburgh or Toronto, easily.
