Heard the SO on the radio, and the miss by Alex Morgan was big.
Definitely an upset to see the US Women's team gone!

Sucks for USA tho, they were all over them, and the better team lost. But, as for I am not American, and I don’t like Hope Solo (I do like watching her play tho), I’m not upset they lost.

But can Canada recruit Alex Morgan please?

It's funny, I was thinking this morning, I won't be surprised after Penny gets back and the Olympics are over that she doesn't start making more money than her brother, just from endorsements.

I bet he didn't see that one coming at the start of the Olympics.

If she turns pro at 16, she gives up a chance to go the NCAA route. From what I read, she'd get far superior training in the NCAA than she would as a pro. She'll have a tough decision when she gets home...

I must not fully understand the trampoline scoring system. I thought that the Chinese athlete Li Dan had a significantly better final run than Rosie did, yet she ended up with the Bronze. Good on MacLennan for taking home another Canada Gold, though!

I doubt it, Canadian Olympic Athletes don't make much in terms of endorsements. Katie Ledecky will, because she's American. I doubt Penny will.

Seriously, I can't stand her. Very glad they're eliminated and normally I feel obligated to root for USA in the Olympics

Do you really think that compares to what Jamie Oleksiak makes as a fringe NHLer, or what Phelps/Ledecky make as American high profile Olympians? Sure it's a good chunk of cash, but it's really not that much comparatively to her American peers.

Do Canadian Olympians get a visit from the tax man after winning a medal? Curious since I just read the every-other-year reminder that the IRS comes knocking at the US athlete's doors after the games to take their cut.
