That game was awesome, very entertaining.. I didn't think Canada had a chance to be victorious over these two talented Brazilians..
They targeted the big Saxy all game, he definitely came to play!!

Cancellara absolutely crushed it at the TT. For a 35-year old getting ready to retire that is awesome!! Big upset too! I don't anyone was picking him. Dumoulin got the silver and Froome the bronze.

I watched most of the indoor volleyball last night. Canada put up a great fight. They never backed down, had a lot of fight. It was a few errors on Canada’s portion that did them in; with such a talent gap between them and Brazil, you can’t make mistakes.

Wallace for Brazil is ridiculous tho. His serves are just…wow. How any of those players don’t break their fingers on every block is beyond me.

Wallace is ridiculous... some of his servers were like back row attacks and he was landing near the attack line haha.

I think the call against Canada in the 2nd set really hurt their chances and momentum for an upset.

How he times serves when throwing it that high in the air I do not know. I couldn’t even toss it in the air consistently let alone follow it up with striking it. However, the only bonus of those ones are you just have to get under it. No need to direct it anywhere. And when he’s consistently doing those hard shots, you aren’t left guessing where it’ll land, it’ll 100% be at the back of the court. But omg he left a dent in the floor with some of his attacks.

It sucked, as soon as it happened I knew the point was going to go to Brazil. Canada got over-excited in an easy point. That’s the only way that happens, you see the easy point and you want to keep the throttle down. Same with the attack (Largas?) had on the free bump over from Brazil and he sent it long. He just wanted to keep the pressure up. I’ve had coaches say if you use less than the 3 touches ever, you better get the point. If you didn’t you were benched for the remainder of that game, and sometimes the next.

Yeah, that one that he sent long on the over-pass.... that was detrimental. and I like the strategy of your coach.... sitting guys if they do that. Where I played we didn't have enough players to do that, but I am certain it would have eliminated a lot of careless errors like that. Also, probably hard for an Olympic coach to sit a player at the Olympics when you are in a tight match against a medal favourite.

The announcers have been brutal. How they blew that Phelps call is beyond me. Is that Friedman???
