Good trade for guy getting Klingberg
Bad trade for guy getting Klingberg
My team is competing this year, came second last year. My D needs an upgrade but it also leaves a big question mark on my RW. The first rounder is likely 8th overall and would nab me an Alex Nylander, Clayton Keller, or Tyson Jost.
League details in sig.
What do you guys think?

I'd rather keep Kessel.
Kling is definitely a great piece to improve your D, but giving up a player like Kessel with a plus is too rich for my blood. Kessel has a 60 point floor, with a solid number of those points coming on the PP, and his ceiling we've seen to be upwards of point per game. Kling will be great as his floor is likely 55ish with good PP production as well, but I can't see him putting up more than 60ish. I'd do this deal straight across, but not with the kicker, especially if there's a player available on the WW who can give you 50ish points with good peripherals.

I think you can get a second tier d man with that pick and that's what I'd aim for... Losing Kessel is a big piece and I fancy a 65-70 season for him next year
Experience is the teacher of all things.
I have a hard time not getting Klingburg here, can you get a pick back?
I try to get anything back and then I make the trade. With blocks and other cats, the difference is pretty close between the two players. You'll be getting a top 5 dman in the league.

Not convinced I trade Kessel for Kling straight up. Add in the 1st and this is gross over payment for Klinger in my opinion.
I think that's a ridiculous price to pay for Klingberg. Far too high. Keep Kessel and your 1st.
Like Havana said, I don't think I would trade Kessel straight up for Klingberg.
Personally, I'd rather own Klingberg over Kessel but that doesn't mean you need to include a 1st round pick to make this happen. You should be using Kessel's strong playoff performance to sell him to improve your D, but you shouldn't have to add to do it.

"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
I agree with this. I easily take Klingberg straight up over Kessel. There's a 5 year age gap and the point production within the league is comparable. I just look at is as you get an elite, top 5 dman that is just entering his prime over an end-of-his prime winger that is a top 25 skater. I try not to trade the 1st round draft pick if I can. Maybe get back a 3rd to soften that blow.

Maybe its just me but I find high end RWs very hard to come by and you have 3 nice pieces to dress...a lot of teams have to resort to grinders to fill these spots. I keep what you got here.
I've debated moving Kessel for another top pairing defenseman but not sure if it's a good move. We are allowed to dress 6 dmen and my top player is Subban and the rest of my d are either solid prospects or old vets that don't do much for me fantasy wise. You have a decent d line but your RW is in good condition if you ask me between Ovi and Wheeler, Goose had an off season but hopefully he bounces back next season.

Kling for Kessel straight is a solid deal, close for both sides to address needs. Adding the first is way too lop-sided.
If you can do it straight, then I take Kling, because they were actually very close in points this year.
