Your ultimate Tragically Hip setlist
I know many of you will be watching on t.v. when CBC airs their final concert. I myself was lucky enough to catch the Victoria and the first of the Vancouver shows. Amazing vibes, sadness and celebration in almost equal measure I'd say, depending on the song, and continuous energy from start to finish. I know they held back some seats for day-of release in Vancouver at least, so if they're coming your way and you didn't get tickets, head down to the venue and try your luck. The shows to date have all been mini-album showcases; 4 songs from a certain album, move on to the next one, 5 segments, followed by a 3 song encore, then a 2 song 2nd encore, also each from a particular album. The only constant has been the 2nd segment (songs 5-8) have all been from the new album, Man Machine Poem. In Victoria they played an extra cut from Road Apples (Last of the Unplucked Gems, thanks boys) otherwise it's been 25 songs per night, from 7 albums. It hurts to even consider it in these terms, but, when that final show airs, what would be your "perfect" song list, following the guidelines they've laid out so far? When compiling my own list, I found Victoria came pretty close to the mark, but I tweaked it just a little. I also used the 'Victoria Rule' and added in one extra song (guess which one?) It can just be a list, not necessarily in the order you'd want, but I'll put mine down in order...

Highway girl
Last American exit
I know they never play stuff from that album anymore, but I'd love to hear Gord go off on Highway girl live for once. Do what you can to get to a show! It was like no concert I've ever been to, and sadly never will again. Greatest Canadian Band Ever!
