Default Your ultimate Tragically Hip setlist

I know many of you will be watching on t.v. when CBC airs their final concert. I myself was lucky enough to catch the Victoria and the first of the Vancouver shows. Amazing vibes, sadness and celebration in almost equal measure I'd say, depending on the song, and continuous energy from start to finish. I know they held back some seats for day-of release in Vancouver at least, so if they're coming your way and you didn't get tickets, head down to the venue and try your luck. The shows to date have all been mini-album showcases; 4 songs from a certain album, move on to the next one, 5 segments, followed by a 3 song encore, then a 2 song 2nd encore, also each from a particular album. The only constant has been the 2nd segment (songs 5-8) have all been from the new album, Man Machine Poem. In Victoria they played an extra cut from Road Apples (Last of the Unplucked Gems, thanks boys) otherwise it's been 25 songs per night, from 7 albums. It hurts to even consider it in these terms, but, when that final show airs, what would be your "perfect" song list, following the guidelines they've laid out so far? When compiling my own list, I found Victoria came pretty close to the mark, but I tweaked it just a little. I also used the 'Victoria Rule' and added in one extra song (guess which one?) It can just be a list, not necessarily in the order you'd want, but I'll put mine down in order...
    -Up to Here
    New Orleans is sinking
    Boots or hearts
    Blow at high dough
    38 Years old
    -Man Machine Poem
    Machine
    Tired as ****
    What blue
In a world possessed by the human mind
    -Fully Completely
    Courage
    50 mission cap
    Wheat kings
    At the 100th meridian
    -Road Apples
    Last of the Unplucked gems
    Twist my arm
    Long time running
    Little bones
    Fiddlers green
    -Phantom Power
    Something on
    Poets
    Bobcaygeon
    Fireworks
    Encore 1-World Container
At the lonely end of the rink
    Yer not the ocean
    In view
    Encore 2-Trouble at the Henhouse
    Gift-shop
    Ahead by a century

Because I can dream, I'll add a 3rd and final encore to the final show
    Highway girl
    Last American exit

I know they never play stuff from that album anymore, but I'd love to hear Gord go off on Highway girl live for once. Do what you can to get to a show! It was like no concert I've ever been to, and sadly never will again. Greatest Canadian Band Ever!

    Great list.

I just hope the true fans get one last chance to see their favourite band (bandwagoners be gone). As much as I always enjoyed their songs on the radio I never really got into them by choice and I feel like I missed something special. They sure do kick some musical ass and I wish them the best.

Very good list, but for me, I NEED to hear "Nautical Disaster". It is my favorite Hip song.

I’m at a cottage for their final concert for a boys weekend. We’re hoping to bring the TV to the beach area to watch/listen to it while playing beach games and stuff. I’m really glad CBC is broadcasting it, and I’m also glad a lot of cities are putting up projections in a local park to broadcast CBC’s broadcast for people.

Most have probably heard this but if you haven't, great job by the DJ in St. Kitts. So pissed at these scalper ********. Really badly wanted to go see this concert and I'm kicking myself for not going to see them in Kingston when I had the chance 3 years ago

That's my favorite Hip song too. I also really like Locked in a Truck of a Car. To be honest, I love everything up until the Poets album. I haven't listened to anything from the hip from this century.

Oddly enough, Pigeon Camera is actually my fave Hip song. A quirky one.
And... both my daughters names are either listed in songs or album titles of Hip's work.
Oh... and I once had a major crush on a girl named Cordelia in University.
Cordelia - oh, what a girl...
    That is all.

An old shaky vid from YouTube back when Gord had hair.
I mean... the opening riff to this song... the way that he holds an extra syllable out of con-tay-hain.
Oh, I just love it. It's so good.

Was just coming here to mention Pigeon Camera and Cordelia and got beat to it. Scared and Grace, Too. as well. And I could go on and on.

Actually it would be one long set list if I were to list everything. Hard pressed to think of a Hip song I don't like on some level.

Absolutely been wearing out my Hip cd's over the last while and though I'm usually popping cd's in and out of the player when I'm playing music when I grab a Hip cd I put it in and leave it.

I absolutely agree that Nautical Disaster is must see. It was my only real disappointment from Victoria. The format of selecting 7 albums is the only reason it's missing, and a few others tbh. While making this list, I was surprised at how few songs off Day for Night I really felt I needed to see live, as it's an album I enjoy listening too (Grace, Too being the other one). Came down to those vs. Henhouse for the final encore and I felt like Century was the best 'closer' but I'd be very happy see either, purely to see Disaster, which they absolutely kill live.
