Giroux for? - REP

For the league in my sig, I have been looking to move Giroux for some help on D and the wings. I have hardly had any interest in the player that despite a down year, finished as the 11th best player in my league settings.

The one team that has approached me is difficult to deal with, but I might try something if it makes sense. Here is his roster:

C: Eichel, Jarnkrok, Boyle, Mitchell, Josefson
LW: Burakovsky, Grigorenko, De La Rose, Stalberg, Franzen
RW: Nylander, Armia, Plotnikov, Eaves
D: Gostisbehere, Ellis, Orlov, Bouwmeester, Hickey, Moore
G: Price, Markstrom

Minors: 1st overall pick, 16th overall, 21st overall, Kapanen, McCann, Petan, Rattie, Lindberg, Kempe, Faksa, Bowey, Honka, Pokka, Morrisey, Binnington, Husso, O'Connor

I don't like the fit here. Only Eichel, Ghost and Price jump out at me as assets worthy of a deal for Giroux. Assuming Price is untouchable you're stuck with a downgrade deal and I doubt he moves both Eichel AND Ghost.

Find another way to beef up your wings and D. Giroux is elite.

I agree with Eric here. There's a good chance he will not trade Ghost, if he's interested in Giroux (Flyers fan?). Getting Eichel will not improve your wings... I'd look elsewhere.

Agree here..I don't see a move worth making with this GM unless you can somehow manage to get Eichel.

I agree you're not likely to get good value for G here. In your situation I'd be looking to move a goalie and hold onto G if there hasn't been interest in him. You've got two solid young tenders with good prospects in Samsonov and Fucale (which my mobile keeps trying to autocorrect to something that tells me my texts might not be very work safe). I'd be trying to move Anderson and another piece for an upgrade to your wings.

Before even reading any of the replies I shared the exact same sentiment. Not much of a deal to be made with this particular GM.

The other team is not very good. In a 22 team league their team must be bottom rung. Price stands out like a sore thumb on that team. What a waste. Maybe you could offer up some off your young goalies along with Giroux for Price AND _________? Just a though. (WOW - is that other team bad! B.A.D. They should not be looking a Giroux. They need to make many many more smaller moves to improve enough to then need a Giroux.)

Thanks for the input everyone, much appreciated. I will stand pat for the summer unless someone comes forth with a quality trade offer.

Haha yes Moses he finished second last, and was lucky enough to win the lottery. Funniest part is he drafted second overall (this was our inaugural season), didn't like his team, so he blew it up. He is a top team in my other league so I'm thinking that may just be luck
