With your goalie situation, Grubauer is an easy drop for me. Even with Vanek potentially being bought out, he'll still get picked up. Grubauer, you're just hoping/not hoping for an injury to Holtby.

I said Saros because the Preds have other options if Rinne goes down whereas the Capitals only have Grubauer. The goalie of the distant future in Washington is Samsonov, and he is in the KHL for the foreseeable future.Originally Posted by Yonald

If Vanek gets bought out, it could light a fire under him for the coming season. After all, look at what happened with Alex Semin in 2012-13 after Carolina thumbed its nose at him. I could see something comparable happen with Vanek.
