it's no brainer that calgary is in love with tkachuk, and juolevi could easily be better than hamilton in a few years if not sooner. edmonton can't afford to wait that long so it's a brilliant move for both sides. Hamilton isn't good enough to fix that defense but it's definitely a start and a step in the right direction.

I was coming to say he's probably not, but this is the type of deal that would make sense. I feel like any player is available for any deal that makes logical sense. I would do this as both teams straight up, Hamilton for #4

They were never going to use Hamilton or #6 for Bishop, neither of those options reflected asset cost.

Sometimes you have to give value to get value. It's like Marko Dano. Chicago wanted him in the Colombus trade, and Winnipeg wanted him in the Ladd trade. Sometimes a young guy can get traded a couple times because he's a desired player. Boston traded him because he said he wasn't going to sign. I'm sure Calgary doesn't want to trade him, but if that's the cost to get #4, with Jokkipakka, Andersson, and Kylington, they have the depth to do so.
