I heard last night that the Minnesota Wild have decided to buy out the final year of Thomas Vanek's three year contract. Bob McKenzie tweeted out the same information earlier this evening.

Nothing has been formalized to this point, but the probability of MIN buying out Tomas Vanek in the next couple of days appears quite high.

Nice to see that they are smart enough to move on. However they probably just move on to giving Backes a 6 year deal worth too much money.
