Got to give this group more than one year.

Other than giving the fans confidence, they've done absolutely nothing rash or make change just for the sake of change. At this point that's enough for me. Hopefully this summer will be eventful. Hey, we can't all have the super successful Toronto Maple Leaf management team...who are about to embark on an eerily similar path to the Oilers, strange huh? Let's see how quickly Toronto can transition from a lottery team to a playoff team. It should be easy.

Has there been a GM who has done more moves for their team in the past year than Chiarelli? I doubt it, but I'd have to check. Criticism of him considering he had to do things like send several players to the AHL just to be rid of them, speaks to how far the Oilers had really fallen. He has to right the ship this year though or the criticisms of him will be valid.

Praba just sounds angry about something and ranting. We've all been there.

Very few guys produce at a point per game rate...being 4th in 5v5 pts/60min over the last 4 years is an impressive stat.
Hes also 9th in primary points/60mins(G's and primary A's) over the last 4 seasons, trailing the usual suspects of Kane, sid, JT, seguin...and strangely Nash.
Im not a big advanced stats guy, 2 weeks ago I was railing against them with the hate over the Gudbranson deal, I didnt think it was fair to just use stats to judge what Gudbranson brings, but it does help a lot when your judging offensive production.
Halls 6m cap hit is very team friendly too imo, guys with nowhere near Hall's offensive talent are getting paid that.

ps. im very nervous for the weekend, plz dont trade Hall unless its for a stud dman(OEL, subban), id expect the Oilers to have to add to that, but dont move him for a Hamonic or Fowler type thats just bad asset management
Hall is going to have to translate those points/60 and 5v5/p/60 or whatever into actual production. Real points. Actual defensive play (which he seems to have improved at but not near enough to get touched by Hockey Canada - a clear red flag). The fact is he's been around a long time now and has 1 productive season to his name and a bunch of injured or half seasons where he looks great at times but looks defensively lost and frustrated the rest of the time. The time for potential from this kid is way long past. Hamonic gets it done night in and night out and would radically improve that Oilers team in one trade. Half a season in and Oiler fans would be saying 'Taylor who?'

The P in those stats stands for points, real points
Hall has flaws defensively but questioning his production over the last 4 years isnt fair. tThe 50pts in 45gms the season before his 80pt yr was the lockout shortened season its not like he got injured again, so you could argue hes had 2 great seasons. 2yrs ago was a mess for Hall and every Oiler, which is the main point, this teams been terrible, and hes still producing.

will be hard to forget him when Tavares and Hall are lighting it up.

I do really like Hamonic I just dont like that swap, Islanders gotta add a significant piece, or accept Eberle or RNH for Hamonic and maybe the Oilers add something on top.

Um easily yes. Rutherford for sure has. I'd argue Treliving easily has as well.

Wish there was an easy way to check this. Chiarelli did a lot of random crap this year for sure.

Crazy. So all of that only in the past year. That's easily more than Rutherford or Treliving in the same time period though Rutherford's deals were certainly more impactful players, by a longshot.

Definitely some tinkering around the edges there, except for the goalies (where they were lacking big-time).

But I would have considered it premature if he had just rolled into town and immediately started moving out the big guns. Sometimes some restraint is warranted.
