I guess the Isles don't see Okposo as being worth what he's going to command on the FA market this summer. So be it, some team will pay and Okposo should cash in...he doesn't "owe" the team anything (other than the efforts he's given to date). Personally, I think he'll fit in very nicely as a top six player somewhere, although he will be on the expensive side. Someone will pay well for his services. He's a quality player.

anyways , the Rangers have been practicing / living in the burbs for decades and strolling into manhatten on gamedays so the isles need to suck it up.
Oh , really? Is that the routine? They check in to a 5-Star hotel (in Brooklyn) for naps? I kinda doubt that.

I can testify that that isn't how the Stars operate before home games.

As far as the Rangers go, they've been playing in MSG since before either of us was born. Anyone who has signed there in the past several decades knows what they're getting and can situate accordingly, so there's no use comparing that particular situation to this one.

Meanwhile, this is the Isles first season in Brooklyn. Kind of a different animal.

Yeah that's what they did for most of the games this year.Take the train from wherever on Long Island to Brooklyn ,morning skate and whatever else at Barclays then have a room paid for to have naps .A car service was provided for rides back to the burbs after games. It wasnt until later in the season they switched it up and held morning skates on gameday at their practice facility.

and , I kinda said the same thing you did with regards to the rangers so I'm still trying to figure you out on this

Ya the Rangers do the same because remember Martin St Louis had to live in a Hotel for his final season because he wasn’t used to the traveling during game days? And he was saying how it was mentally taking a toll on him not seeing his wife or something?

Islanders Iceworks (practice facility for NYI) to Barcaly’s Center is an hr drive, same goes with the Rangers and their facility. But I bet the Rangers players live close to the Practice facility, maybe 20minute drive, so the drive from home to MSG could be 40-80minutes away. NYI players could be living maybe an hr drive away from the practice facility because an hr commute isn’t bad. What happens if they were an hr away and have to drive past Iceworks now? The commute jumps to 2hr drive.

People could have had homes based off where the original Arena was, now that it moved, it could likely mess with commute times.

Basically what I was saying is that every Ranger player in the last several decades knew what the team logistics were going to be the first day they were handed their Rangers uni. So they could take that into account when setting up their living situation.

That isn't the case with the Islanders - the logistics for home games and team practices would have been centered in eastern Long Island when they came on board (with the exception of those few who signed last off-season, of course).

So comparing them to the Rangers isn't a fair comparison. The Rangers didn't just move into MSG this season.

Dude, I believe most of those issues were ironed out midway through he season. For example, the Isles changed the practice facility back to LI closer to their homes for instance. I think a lot of that was overblown.
