Flyers snag another high quality Dman prospect. Damn they are building from the backend out.

Pengwin was picking for the Flyers actually. That's a funny little tidbit on Poile though. I had never noticed that.

ShiftDisturber that is a great pick for the Yotes at 20. Fabbro I think has the potential to go higher and would be a steal for them. If they could snag the back-to-back-D at 7 & 20 as you mentioned, well I can't see any better outcome for them at the draft. I would have made the same pick at 20 with Fabbro still on the board.

Thanks. I think they'd be elated if Fabbro was still available at 20. I'm not sure they'll pick 2 D in the first round but I think they should.

I think they take a forward with their 1st pick and then someone like Fabbro with their 2nd. Maybe Brown with their 1st pick

With the Yotes, they've stockpiled forwards in recent years but I would argue they are still weaker on the wings. With Brown, it depends on how the management feel he compares to Dvorak I think (long term). Arizona to me is quite weak on the backend so I could see them going D-D-F with their first 3 picks. Tough to say until the flow of the draft unveils.

I agree, but I think they should go with two defencemen. Their prospects at that position is very shallow and D-men take longer to develop. This is a good year to pick up two top prospects in the first round.

The Stars are really deep at Center, but if a dynamic offensive talent like Debrincat is gone at that point I think Jim Nill plays it safe and takes a more complete player like Asplund. The Stars have a lot of young forwards ready to take the next step so with no goalie who jumps out I think it's time to start building up the depth at forward in the farm system. And who knows how the trades may affect things at Center too.

Still, part of me would love to see Jim Nill take the gamble on Debrincat. If his size doesn't hold him back, with his skill set, in that offense, holy sheep!

We're cruising through the picks now. I'm still eight picks away, but as a heads up, I'll be offline for about 4-5 hours this evening in case it does get to my pick.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid
