Pick a Goalie Prospect

Hey guys,

Here are the goalie prospects available in my league (On my radar at least)

I'm looking long term with these guys seeing as I own Holtby/Rinne/Murray

Ilya Sorokin NYI
Ville Husso STL
Scott Wedgewood NJ
Christopher Gibson NYI
Samuel Montembeault FLO
Igor Shesterkin NYR

If you're looking long-term I'd likely go with Shesterkin and Sorokin.

But, as others will mention, prospect goalies are a crapshoot so who knows.

C. Gibson I think is the closest. Montembeault will probably be given the net in Florida after Luongo retires.

But if you want to wait a few years Sorokin is my pick. Can't say I know too much about Shesterkin.

Sorokin and Husso, the rest are more like crap shots to me.

Husso is somewhat buried though.

Goalies are always tough to pick but I'd go with Sorokin

Assuming that the prospect goalie is not taking up a roster spot, I like Husso the most.

Sorokin is by far and wide the top prospect on this list. he had an amazing season in the khl.
husso could be really good, but the blues are loaded with goalies (both nhlers and prospects). he's their top goalie prospect, and Elliott will be out of town in one year so the backup spot will be available, but allen's still around.
I like montembeault a lot. I think he'll be groomed to take over for luongo in florida in a few years. and shestyorkin is the top goalie prospect in the rangers system, and lundqvist is starting to get up there in age, but he'll also have to fight with the many other goalie propsects that are in the organization.

I like Montembeault but he is at least 4-5 years away from the NHL.

Sorokin I would say is the best bet to make an impact in the NHL and would be a far better option than Gibson who I see as patch work goaltender in the Isles organization and I doubt is a part of any long term plan. Wedgewood as well is an injury away from another call up in Jersey and he played well in his stint last year. Montembeault is a far ways away from any fantasy relevance.

Another vote for Sorokin, this guy just dominated (to put it mildly) the KHL and would be my pick for a longer term elite goalie prospect.
