Hellebuyck for Larkin?

1st post, gotta start somewhere! Team in sig.

I've been trying to nab Larkin off someone however he isn't giving me much wiggle room. He wants Hellebuyck + for Larkin + (multiplayer deal to even it out he said). He won't take an older or high cap players.

However I am not too keen on giving up Hellebuyck considering my goalie situation is a little scarce (had Dubnyk and Halak most of all season).

My question is, would you give up Hellebuyck for Larkin? Does Larkin's value outweigh Hellebuyck? I think I got a pretty decent young core going

I own Hellebuyck and I would not move him for Larkin, even considering my deep goalie situation. In your case, I think you have to hold on to him. You have some good offensive talent in the pipeline; focus on addressing your issue in goal first as you own 2 platoon goalies as keepers. I would try to get one of their handcuffs unless something happens in the offseason with the Blues or the Stars' crease.

I think you need more Hellebuyck than Larkin. I would keep Hellebuyck no doubt.

I prefer Helle over Larkin here as well. Larkin might be able to get you more value next season, since Helle is still sharing a crease for now, but after that Helle will fill your needs better.

Don't like your current G line up with both your starters in time shares (and expected to be on the short end of those time shares sooner than later (whether than happens or not who knows). I think Hell boy is far more valuable to you.

I'd hang onto Hellboy. Gonna be a rock solid G and with Elliot and Lehtonen already, you could use a young guy to build around. Pass on Larkin id sell for a higher forward like an Eichel for ex.

I prefer Hellboy in this case. Your G situation is currently not the best (two time-shares) and you have a solid core up front. WPG is only going to get better and Hellboy will be their guy in net. Hold onto him and enjoy the ride!

Although Larkin is tempting, I would hold onto Hellebuyck. Pavelec is a poor starter and with one year left in Winnepeg, Hell's time will come quickly.

I think given your current goalie situation you are best to stand pat. I would also recommend trying to better your two goalie keepers through trade if at all possible. Elliot will put up some solid numbers, even in the timeshare, however Kari is on the downswing and isnt worth keeping. Make a move for a bonafide no.1 starter

Welcome to dobberhockey.. You definitely need Hellebuyck more then you need Larkin..

If I owned Hellebuyck, I wouldn't trade him for Larkin..

I'm new also, and I agree with most here. I'd keep the goalie over the forward, especially considering you'd be trading from a weakness to a strength (you already have Crosby, Kane and MacK)

No not a chance. Nothing against Larkin but you need the goaltender more than you need the forward. Helle is on the brink of being an NHL starter and could easily be a top-15 guy if not better. Those are much harder to come by. With 14 teams in your league, I can't imagine goalies are too bountiful.
