His game translates fine to the NHL. The kid is only 22 years old and will eventually get his shot. I am not sure I'd call him a "stud", but eventually he will become a solid NHL Dman.
Does his game translate to the NHL??
I know he's got a lot of traffic infront of him in Anaheim but those numbers are too hard to ignore. I wouldn't wanna pass on a stud just cause he has a harder path (a la Giroux 8 yrs ago)

As is the case with all these players - he has potential but ultimately it will be about finding the right opportunity and then taking advantage of it
He's on my radar but do I think it is the best fit for him to emerge in the next year or two? No but then these things don't always go to plan
Brennan didn't fail as an NHLer because of players ahead of him. He failed during his promotions to the NHL. Very odd question.

I always keep an open mind about this stuff - we were just as sure about Brennan. Montour could indeed fail. All we can do is our best guess. I think Montour will be fine
Brennan's failure was influenced by team depth too. He had 9 points in 19 games (though minus-8) for Florida. He would have been fine if the coach let him work through it and develop. Play to his strengths. I know lots of great offensive defenseman who are horrible defensively but still get to play because they produce
