    Default Sebastian Aho (Finland)

I have picks 2/7/8 in my upcoming draft in June and he wasn't picked last year so he's available to be picked. After the top 6 F of Matthews, Laine, Jesse, Tkachuk, PL Dubios and Nylander you're left with that second tier forward (Brown/Jost/Keller) or dman (Olli/Jakub/Mikhail). I have him penciled in for my 7 or 8 pick as long as he doesn't go after the big 3. Thoughts? Team, roster and league scoring for 16 team league in signature.

Personally, I would take just about everyone in the first 15 picks of this draft ahead of Sebastian Aho. Those "second tier" players you talk about could likely all be better than him. I think he's good, but not sure I see why he could be considered a top tier prospect. He has a solid situation but limited upside IMO.

i dont realy have an issue picking him at 7.

the top 6 as you listed are definitely above him, but the next tier (brown etc) aren't miles above him depending on your league scoring.

he is more developed than most of the guy you would be able to pick at that spot and could crack the NHL sooner, so it's not a terrible decision to pick him there.

i would try trading down though, as it seems not many people would rank him that high so if you really want him you may as well acquire some extra assets while you're at it

I also wouldn't have an issue taking him at 7. He looks like a very solid, complete player at the worlds (smart, good skill, capable at both ends), and his game should translate to the NHL.

I'd feel best taking him at 7 if you really want him (which you seem to), but who else besides players from this draft will be there? If he was passed over who else was passed over??? I suggesting waiting until your #7 pick and listing the best players available then asking if people would take Aho over them, if possible of course.

Aho is a pretty legit prospect. He's going to push hard for a spot in Carolina out of camp, but may bounce back and forth next year. He's done some serious developing in the last year and looks like a player who will produce in the top six, and produce well if partnered with an elite talent (get on it, Hurricanes!)

I wouldn't be upset seeing him grabbed at 7

Everything Joe said, especially due to the part in bold, but minus the ''I wouldn't be upset seeing him grabbed at 7''... Replace that with ''I would be very happy if I grabbed him at 7''!

Been keeping a tabs on this guy over at HF for the last little bit.... A lot of people are really starting to hype this guy. Just finished second in MVP voting for the FEL as an 18 year old. His development over the past year has been astronomical.

He compares very favorably to someone like Jussi Jokinen.... Very solid two-way guy who could produce well in the top 6. But with how he's been developing, there might even be another level to his game.

I would be very happy to get him at 7.

Another vote for nabbing him in your 7/8 slot.
He should be a decent contributor soon on a pretty weak Canes team

I hope he's a lot more consistent than Jokinen.. Is he considered a top 10 prospect currently outside the NHL? What are we talking about in terms of upside? More than 60?

I would try to trade down. You should be able to get a extra pick or prospect with that pick to move to 12-16 spot

He's currently #9 on my list of the top fantasy prospects who have never played a game in the NHL..including 2016 draft prospects, but keeping in mind that he's likely closer to the NHL than players drafted after #4/5 this year so that helps his stock. I'll be finalizing the list in about a week's time to be submitted for the Prospects' Guide.

Tough to predict more than 60 for him at this point, until we can see what he can do against NHL'ers on the small rink I think 60 is a pretty safe ceiling. Granted this is a player who enjoys breaking down barriers that are set for him, so we'll see.
