And the growing crop of FA Coaches makes things more interesting. I suspect with Bruce and Bob now available (Hitch likely as well some time soon) more and more coaches may be seen the door in favor of the recently unemployed.

I don’t like this move. I would have gone with him 1 more yr. Wasn’t his fault the goaltending situation absolutely burned them this yr.

It's a surprise for me. I think he would be the really best fit for Ottawa Senators. They look for experience. He is a local boy and proved he is a good coach with young players.

Can't forget that Hartley wasn't a Treviling hire, he was a Feaster hire four years ago, before Burke and Treviling made this their own. He did an amazing job getting this group to overachieve two years ago, last year was closer to what I expected from them. Goaltending is a huge problem, no question.
But if they had a chance to bring in a guy like Boudreau, who knows how to coach teams into the playoffs at least, and has the experience now in the Pacific division, it seems like a move you try to make if you're not thinking Hartley will take you to the next level.
