Not a fan of that forum at all. Their rules on language, gossip, and posting links are ridiculous. Not that I am big into the TMZ aspect of sports but as a Hawks fan, there has been a lot to talk about over the last couple years and all their rules are a turnoff. And I never go to the main boards. I learned quickly how low the general hockey IQ is on their main boards. I will go to specific team boards to read about players. Overall, I go there once or twice a week. I come here several times a day.

It has been quiet here but some of the abrasive, contrarian-types have not been posting (good!).

Agree with that, very dictatorial moderators. They're also a little bit corrupt as Eklund has preferential treatment in the Rumour board because he is an HFBoards sponsor.

Any forum sites that have sponsors or partners tend to have some bias. I frequent an audio/electronics forum and it was great when it was organic but once the sponsors rolled in, members were banned for giving critical opinions about equipment/brands that are sponsors of the site, or threads were either locked or put in quarantine.

I suppose HF has its pros and cons but it's a great place to discuss the playoffs and the series/games as they are happening. I suppose I'll make that my destination for general hockey chat and this site more for fantasy hockey chat.

Take this with a grain of salt, as I have some good friends who are Habs followers and we trash talk back and forth, but my guess was it had to do with the year they would win the cup next (for whatever reason). I like the number better now that I know though.
