Hall can’t cover, but I love his intensity. He lost a lot of speed quickly. Sean Taylor last played for the Skins 2007, Bailey was 2003, that’s why I didn’t include him.

Hard to compare anyone to Taylor tho. Dude was a freak athlete. Hit like a LB, speed like a RB, cover like a CB, Hands like a WR.

Wasn't really familiar with Taylor tbh. Nor did I get deep into football until late 2000's. But I just remember Bailey as a kid lol.

Sorry, but Norman is a victim of believing his own hype. He'll get his money (see: overpaid) but he's no Revis or Neon Dion. He does well in zone coverage schemes which means CBs are usually 4th/5th rounders in such defenses. Carolina knows this so they let him go. Their defense is not predicated on their secondary. I get it.

1 side of me hates the signing, solely on the amount. 2nd side of me is, at least he can cover, and you can have him on a top WR. He won't come close to replicating his yr, but he'll be better than any of the CBs wash has.

I was reading that Norman wasn't a great fit for the Washington system. I think it was that he didn't play conventional mam coverage in Carolina. Add to the fact that Carolina's front 7 is far superior to Washingtons and Norman will have a very difficult time even coming close to his career year. Whoever signed him was going to pay too much money but good on him for getting it.

He didn't shadow any one particular receiver. He played in a three deep zone. As The Whale mentioned, he also benefited greatly from CAR's front seven. That's where CAR invests their coin. I'm not saying he's a bad player or a bust, but WAS invested a lot of cap % on player that can't play man-press coverage. If WAS realizes that, great. If they expect Norman to be someone he's not as a player they will have to eat a giant sh!t sandwich (bite, chew, swallow).
