Following the surprising rescinding of the franchise tag from the Panthers, many teams have made contact to acquire his services.

Janoris Jenkins earlier this offseason got 5 years $62.5M from the Giants. While it is expected that Norman easily exceeds that, its a complicated matter in that teams have already done some (if not majority/all) of their off-season shopping.

Mostly because of the cap room they have.

Wherever he ends up, they'll pay too much money for him. He's a great player, top 10 at his position, but his performance last year can be directly correlated to the type of defense the Panthers use (nasty front 7, cover 2, zone d). He does not deserve to be the highest paid CB and that's basically what he wants.

Regardless...he just wants the money and they're one of the few teams that can afford him. He clearly just cares about money and isn't after championships. Carolina was offering term with ~$12M per year and he kept clamoring about wanting $15-16M

As a Seahawks man, I am pleased to see Carolina punting an asset of that value for no return. I would rather have him safely neutralized on the impotent 49ers than having to play him every year in the playoffs.

If the redskins sign him for anything more than 4yrs I’ll be upset. At 29 (I think), he’s only got 2yrs at his current talent level, and 4yrs of relevancy.

However, they’ve been searching for a solid CB since I’ve started following them. I’ve heard 5yrs, 75mill is what he’s looking for.

My only knock on Norman is how Beckham and Jones absolutely dominated him Then again, they roped him into the slot where he usually gets burned.

Watching him last year I felt like he basically built a brickwall covering half of the field killing opponent offense and the other times, he was nothing but a rag doll out there.

I don't remember Odell owning him at all. Quite the opposite actually. Norman kept Beckham under wraps pretty much all game until Beckham caught the TD late in the game.

The fact Beckham had no space and barely and targets that game was why he was so pissy at Norman and took the stupid penalties.

Ugh, now I’m hearing he wants 16mill per yr. The last time the Skins had anyone good in the secondary was Sean Taylor, so I can see why management and the fans are pushing for this but arghhh, 16mill per yr!

16 mil a year till he's like 33 is crazy for Norman. He's probably going to get it though. He's a stud but it's hard to build a D when you pay a corner that much money.

Hall can’t cover, but I love his intensity. He lost a lot of speed quickly. Sean Taylor last played for the Skins 2007, Bailey was 2003, that’s why I didn’t include him.

Hard to compare anyone to Taylor tho. Dude was a freak athlete. Hit like a LB, speed like a RB, cover like a CB, Hands like a WR.
