I think the Falcons paid more to move up and draft Julio Jones.

Interesting development. The Rams have acquired the #1 pick from the Titans in the upcoming draft. Going back to Tennesse are picks:
2016 1st round (#15)
2016 2nd round (#43)
2016 2nd round (#45)
2016 3rd round (#76)
2017 1st round
2017 3rd round
Very interesting development. Titans were known to be shopping the pick. OT out of Ole Miss, Larry Tunsil was pretty well the consensus #1 pick but I think this has completely revamped the opening round. Highly likely the Rams covet QB Carson Wentz and feared the Browns scooping him at #2.
I have to say, this is a good trade for the team. The price is steep, but others have paid a much larger price in the past for a top 3 pick.
--Edit--
The Rams, in addition to the top pick, receive fourth- and sixth-round selections this year from the Titans. So that’s considerable.

Way too much I think. It was fair until it got into 2017 draft picks.

it was a really smart move by the titans tho. They don’t need any of the top guys this yr, and will likely be a top half draft pick next yr too. I just don’t think the Rams made the smart play this yr by getting that 1st overall. But if they see a guy they want, they should try and take it.
Redskins did it and it allowed them to properly develop a QB in Cousins. Maybe we’ll see that with the Rams 4th round pick

I don't know a ton about football... but this has got to be for a QB-pick at #1.
As good as an offensive linemen can be in real value to a football club... it just doesn't sell tickets (which is key).
LOL - I feel like a dunce but I have no idea who Carson Wentz is!!!
I agree. I have a feeling that the move to LA has a large part to do with this move as well.
Admittedly, I really haven't dived into the NFL draft yet, with the startup of the baseball season and trying to learn more about that. However, Wentz, Goff & Lynch were the top-3 rated QBs heading into the combine and Wentz absolutely blew the doors off of the others. He is claimed to be head and shoulders above Goff and Lynch (but I'm still trying to read more to get a better understanding of all three). It seems any team who wanted this kid had to move to #1 overall since the Browns were taking him at #2.
Here's a few articles about Wentz:

Pretty sure Lynch was originally a 15-20 pick anyways

I didnt think he'd go that early. I expected Lynch to still be around for Denver to pick him at the end of the 1st round but that's just a guess.
This move is definitely for one of Wentz or Goff. One will be gone 1st overall and I expect the other to be gone to Cleveland 3rd overall, which pisses me off to no extent. I was hoping Goff or Wentz would still be there for San Fran at 7 overall, which doesn't look good to happen now. Even though Cleveland just signed RGIII, I will be quite surprised they dont snag one of these two QBs but then again, it is the Browns so who knows.

Browns are picking 2nd overall...but I agree they likely take Goff. Everything I've seen today indicates this move by the Rams if for Wentz and nothing else. Its really about time the Rams got some balls and made a move like this since its a position they have dwindled at since the Mark Bulger days (minus some mediocreness of Bradford). SF does truly miss out here. So they either drop down to pick Lynch or build other positions. I think they'd be better off addressing another position than trading down for Lynch.

If the Rams pulled this trade off, I think they heard Cleveland was planning on drafting the QB they wanted. No way were the Titans taking a QB, so that’s just my thinking.

The Rams waited to announce the trade till after Kobe’s game….He’s had a great career, and a poetic last game. But man this Kobe stuff this yr was getting old.
