    Default Jordan Oesterle

Any real upside for this guy? Don't know much about him, but his AHL numbers are decent.

I picked him up for the playoffs with massive injuries (team in sig, I'm eliminated) but I'm wondering if I should hold on to him, I could use another D and the waiver wire is very thin - would be dropping Prince (most likely, maybe Joel Ward) to make room for him.

I don't see any upside for him. He has not really done anything to show he is an NHL dman with fantasy value at this point in his career. He played a significant amount of forward this year in the AHL if my memory serves me correctly. He is patient with the puck but that's really all he does at an above average rate.

He's getting a chance on the Edmonton PP right now but I don't see him hanging onto that.

Also don't see a relevant role for him. Klefbom, Nurse and a dman they probably will trade for all make him a 3rd pairing guy.

It's funny, the coach likes his game and thinks he has more in the tank...which means he's getting opportunities. However, let's see what happens when Klefbom is back and the Oilers bring in one (or two he says wishfully) top four D.

That's normal this time of year for teams that have nothing left to play for. If anything Oesterle is just increasing his odds of sticking in the NHL which helps his value in deep leagues.

    Completely different players.

I think the most likely outcome for Oesterle is a depth NHL dman with little pp role. Schultz was always going to be reliant on the offense he brings from the point (and just didn't work out in Edmonton).

Time to dust this one off and see what's going on. He has been on a tear with 7 points in his 15 games and he is playing top 4 minutes, with a bit of PP time. Appears that he is top pair with Keith and that he might be the guy who emerges from the stew of inexperienced no-name Ds to maybe become the new #2. I just snatched him up as a prospect free agent because his numbers in multi-cat the past couple of weeks have been shockingly good.

Anyone know the deal on this guy?

Just got snagged in my league--totally worth a flyer in a deep league. Why not? With the Hawks's cap situation, they'll need to keep getting production from guys like him.

He has completely supplanted Seabrook, who is 3rd pair now and useless for the purposes of our game.

Other then a couple games his PP time is very low.

But yeah is deep and even cap leagues he's probably an add..

Have to Double check but has Day Dream Nation said anything about him?

I think he's a decent short term pickup which I did in a deeper league I am in. He skates well and has been getting a decent number of shots. He has been paired with Keith recently, getting big minutes, and getting some 2nd unit PP time which is basically useless on the Hawks. You could do worse but he is nothing I am really excited about.
