Trout, don’t over think this.
It’s like when people ask should they take Crosby or Stamkos, Ovi, or Seguin. Ya, they’re all great to own, but take the proven guy.
I love fantasy hockey, but really not too familiar (yet) with fantasy baseball. Willing to learn. If you can help with one or more of the questions below it would be much appreciated! I will give you Reps!!
10 team 1-year H2H league

I landed the first overall. I'm debating between Trout, Goldschmidt and Harper. I'm actually learning towards Goldschmidt right now, because of his overall production, health and consistency. He generally hits for the best average and grabs the most steals, but I'm wondering about positional scarcity if it's better to take an OF (like LW over C in Hockey etc - please comment - I'm not sure about this).
Also, who should I target on the oh-so-important next 2 swings? (20th-21st, and 40th-41st)
How would you rank the offensive positions based on scarcity (1st being the most scarce) this season?
Who are your top 5 sleeper pitchers this year? In which round () would you look to reach for them?
Top 5 sleeper hitters? In which round () would you look to reach for them?
Any other players to target/pointers for this years draft? Or fantasy baseball tips in general. Rep for help!! Thanks so much.

I would also take Trout but I dont think anyone would question you if you took the other two either.
As far as the swing picks, it's hard to say who to take because we dont know whos available but I would definitely be looking at one of the better SP left over. I know in my recent draft, I was able to get Chris Sale at the 20th overall pick. Bumgarner went 21st and Mookie Betts went 22nd.
40th is just too hard to guess on, again due to not knowing who's even there.
The one thing I noticed after I drafted last weekend, dont worry about 2B early on. Very deep position this year so you will be able to get quality 2B later in the draft.

In that order for me. But I NEVER get the first pick
Ken Giles, round 11th-ish. ADP of 106. I’d be getting him. 100mph fastball, with a great slider, 2nd lowest ERA in Philly history last yr for pitching 100ip in first 2 seasons (1.56ERA, Pap had 1.50ERA). and like 4th behind Kimbrel (1.20) and Wade Davis (0.96).
He starts as the closer most likely, but the Houston’s thinking that closers aren’t a thing may be his only downside. 2 bad games he could get knocked to set up, or if a matchup better suits him in the 8th he’d role out then.
If you have a cat like mine (Sv+H) I’m fine with him as one of my RPs

I'm no baseball expert but I think Harper came into his own last year and will build on that. Trout is a powerhouse and has multi-cat numbers that Harper doesn't (i.e. SBs) but Harper hitting 50Hrs with a better average should outweight that defecit. For that reason, I'm on the Harper train!

Trout and Harper are can't miss guys. Stanton could be a dark horse as is Correa (for a 1st overall pick). Don't worry about position scarcity. If you're not sure, draft best available if you can make trades. I've got Harper in mine, would only trade him for Trout and even still I prefer Harper.
At first pick, don't worry about position scarcity yet. You want the best player.
As things go on, you want to pay attention to the order above: SS, C, 2B, 3B, 1B, OF
Catcher is iffy though -- really, after Posey, there's probably no reason to rush on anybody.
With only 3 SPs, I'd probably not rush after the biggest of names there either. I'd rather get the tough field positions first.
No saves? I'd target guys that are SP/RP eligibility then. Seems your cats would allow you to skip closers altogether.
Make tiers. That'll help.
