    Default Francis Perron

Might as well start a thread about this guy already.

Senators 7th rounder in 2014 having a Mike Hoffman-esque MVP calibre season in the Q. Has led his Rouyn-Norando Huskies to 1st place.

40 goals, 57 assists, = 97 points, +36, 233 SOG in 55 games. Second overall in scoring to Conor Garland.

He has speed, a very good shot, and plays similar to Hoffman. Somebody to keep on eye on at least.

Thanks for sharing. What scared scouts two years ago? Small? Injuries? Seems like quite the late-bloomer. Also, does the fact that he's played what, 3-4 seasons in the Q add a bit of an asterisk to these numbers?

not really sure, but probably his weight I guess. He was and might still be pretty slim. His height is fine at 6 feet. He is a bit of a late bloomer like you said.

I don't think there would be an asterisk required since he's not an over-ager but yeah, you usually should have your best year in your final junior season if you are a legit prospect. He is a year younger than Hoffman when he had his final junior season. He has progressed each season so that is good to see.

Just somebody to keep in the back of your mind, not projecting anything as of yet as I don't really follow him either. He should sign this off-season and play AHL next season. The Sens have a history of grabbing guys like this and making them into something so he's one I'm watching.

Yeah! 6 feet 165 pounds. And a good progression.

Damnit Ev, he was going to be my sleeper pick this summer in my prospect draft.

He's a very smart player and speed is definitely not an issue for him. A scout for HockeyProspect has been raving about him for a couple of years now.

Hopefully he can do it faster than Hoffman and not play his first full NHL season at age 25.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

No disrespect for Perron but this should have been Conor Garlands award.

    Talking about carrying a team:

    Garland: 128pts
    Best teamsmates: 65, 64, 50

    Perron: 108pts
    Best teammates: 82, 67, 51

Itīs not like he outscored Perron by 5 points. So i stick to my words here. Love both prospects nonetheless.

Everything here about Perron seems eerily similar to certain player named Justin Azevedo circa 2008, who played for the Rangers in the OHL...league MVP as an overager, carried his team as the point leader, next closest teammates being 51 & 52 points behind him, late round draft pick, players small in stature

He's not an overager and not small, just skinny right now.

Like I said no idea if he will ever make it

Nothing against Rouyn-Noranda because they put together an impressive season but London, Erie and Kitchener spent a lot of team beating one another up...at one point those three were occupying 3 of the top 4 spots...we'll see what happens when the Mem cup rolls around
