Claim the Blackhawks have also invited Geoff Sanderson to tryout with the club. He\'s not on their training camp roster, though.

San Jose Sharks training camp roster

Tomas Plihal and Alex Semenov appear on the roster and not as tryout invitees, so they must have been signed.

Also in camp for the first time will be college graduate and 2004 draftee C Steven Zalewski (21+12+34 in 38 NCAA games with Clarkson; 2+4+0 in 7 AHL games with Worcester). However, college graduates D David MacDonald and D Brian O\'Hanley, who were signed last year, aren\'t.

C Cory Larose, RW Matt Jones, RW Ryan Vesce, D Brendan Buckley and D Mike Moore are under the radar 08 FA signings, Jones and Moore out of college and the others out of Europe. Vesce\'s probably the most interesting of them.

Groulx, Demers and Demers are the only 08 draftees in camp.

Plenty of players on try out:

LW Jonathan Boneau (12+12+48 in 68 QMJHL games with Victoriaville as an 18 yr old)
    LW Jeff Friesen
C Matt Fornataro (18+28+44 in 38 NCAA games with New Hampshire)
C Mathieu Tousignant (8+14+61 in 27 QMJHL games with PEI)
RW Rick Cleaver (31+19+16 in 28 NCAA games with Norwich)
RW Zach Harnden (23+17+51 in 65 OHL games with Peterborough)
RW Matthew Pistilli (37+56+51 in 63 QMJHL games with Gatineau)
RW Tyler Shattock (9+14+45 in 48 WHL games with Kamloops)
D Adam Leblanc-Bourque (8+29+106 in 67 QMJHL games with Shawinigan)
D Joe Rulier (1+6+58 in 20 AHL games with Bridgeport)
D Brett Westgrath (2+3+89 in 37 AHL games with Iowa)
D Michael Wilson (6+41+28 in 64 WHL games with Swift Current)
G Kyle Jones (1.09 GAA with 10 shutout in 25 games with St. Norbert of the NCAA).

Fornataro (6\'00\'\'/190), Cleaver (6\'00\'\'/190), Pistilli (6\'2\'\'/220), Wilson (6\'1\'\'/160) and Jones stand out with their numbers, however, Cleaver and Jones have done it in Div-III NCAA hockey.

Fornataro\'s had a second consecutive point per game season, but as a much older player (he is now 23). In the USHL before college he was considered more of an agitator type, so his numbers suggest a late bloomer.

Pistilli had a breakout season as an overager last year, though he wasn\'t far from a point per game pace the year before. He turns 21 in October 2009, so I am not sure whether or not he is still draft eligible in 2009. He\'s got the size, too so he is very intriguing. I would guess that if a guy with his size and numbers wasn\'t drafted, there have to be skating issues, but I don\'t know.

Jamie Rivers will be in camp and is noted to have signed a contract with Chicago (AHL).

None of their European prospects are on the roster (i.e., Enlund). Ilya Nikulin, who was supposed to have signed with them, isn\'t on the roster. Didn\'t do a thorough check to see if anyone else of note was missing.

Of the people on tryout, forwards Matt Lyall anhd Robert Mignardi stand out in terms of stats last year, but are rather small, especially Lyall (5\'11\'\'/155, turning 21 in February). I\'ve a friend who\'s a Greyhounds fans, so I\'ll ask him about Lyall next time I talk to him.

Here\'s Carolina\'s training camp roster, moved from the beginning of the thread, because I figured the first post should instead have a tracking list of the rosters available:

    http://hurricanes.nhl.com/ext/TCroster090408.pdf

    On tryouts (g+a+PIM):

G David Leggio (2.20 GAA with Clarkson of the ECAC)
D Ryan McGinnis (6+42+115 in 64 OHL games with Oshawa)
D Benn Olson (0+12+266 in 71 WHL games with Seattle)
LW Dan LaCouture (1+1+18 in 15 Swiss league games with Lugano)
F Ryan Weston (2+6+53 in 36 HE games with Boston U)
C Brett Theberge (13+26+45 in 55 OHL games with Peterborough)
    and of course Jeff O\'Neill.

Two other invitees who didn\'t much noting before:

LW Robert Slaney (26+29+63 in 64 QMJHL games with Cape Bretton; signed to an AHL contract by Albany)

C Dwight Helminen (20+25+10 in 52 Finnish league games with Jyvaskila, signed as an FA in July)

Anyone of these worth keeping an eye on?

    Also of note:

08 draftees Mike Murphy, Michal Jordan, Zach Boychuk and Sam Morneau are on the roster; Zac Dalpe, who is heading to college, isn\'t. Nor is 06 draftee Jamie McBain, so I guess he\'s going back to college as well.

Other CAR owned prospects not on the roster are Ds Justin Krueger, Tim Kunes, Kyle Lawson and Martin Vagner, and goalie Magnus Akerlund.

Dallas\' Traverse City roster (their site also has write ups on their two games there)

    http://stars.nhl.com/team/app?articl...p;service=page

    Not in camp:

    Lauri Tukonen (as expected)

    08 draftees in camp:

    Matt Tassone

On camp roster but not on their roster in the forecaster, so i assume on try-out:

    F Pierre Alexandre Vandall
    D Wes Cunningham
    D Marc-Andre Dorion
    D Trevor Ludwig
    D Guillaume Monast
    D Matt Stevenson
    D Adam Welch

Looking at their numbers last year, here\'s who stands out:

Monast had 8+22+68 in 65 QMJHL games with Halifax this year in a breakout season, and has been recently traded to the Rempart. He\'s 20 yrs old, 6\'2\'\'/201.

Dorion, 21, 5\'11\'/172, posted 16+43+54 in 62 QMJHL games with Baie-Comeau as an overager, doubling his goals career high from the previous season.

Cunningham, 21, 5\'11\'\'/174, posted 6+43+100 in 55 OHL games with Plymouth as an overager, but hockeydb list him as LW, so he may have been converted to D (there\'s a huge jump in his PIM per game in 05-06).

But the most intriguing is Vandall, who will turn 19 in November, is 5\'11\'\'/170, and posted 30+27+46 in 63 QMJHL games with Shawinigan (his second season, doubling his goal totals and almost doubling his points totals compared with his rookie season). I couldn\'t find anything else about him, but would think he went undrafted despite these numbers for a reason. Still, may be worth monitoring.

Update 21/9 - Monast, Ludwig and Stevenson survived into main camp. The rest were released

    Kings Rookie roster

Loktionov and Voinov are on the roster, despite their signing being contested by the KHL. Azevedo, Campbell, Doughty, Teubert and Wudrick are other 08 draftees in camp.

    On try-out:

    D Mike D\'Orazio
    G Martin Jones
    LW Olivier Legault

D\'Orazio, 18, 6\'0\'\'/199, posted 1+19+129 in 67 games in his second season with the OHL\'s Owen Sound.

Jones, 18, 6\'1\'\'/165, posted 2.12 GAA and .911% in 27 WHL games with Calgary.

Legault is a PIM guy who was a 2005 Panthers draftee.

    \'Yotes rookie camp roster

Tikhonov is in camp, as is Swedish 2006 pick D Jonas Ahnelov, who was signed in May. LW Adam Perry, who has posted over a point per game in the OHL in the last three seasons, and was signed by the \'Yotes in early August, is also notable.

Not on their forecaster roster and therefore presumed on tryout:

    G Kurtis Mucha
    D Brett Motherwell
    LW John Flatters
    C Tyler Johnson
    C Daine Todd

Johsnon, who turned 18 in late July, posted 13+22+34 in 69 WHL games in his rookie season with Spokane, who I think are from his hometown. At 5\'9\'\'/165 he is still tiny, and given that and their current depth I am assuming they are looking at him with a view to the next draft.

5\'10\'\'/168 Todd, who turns 22 in January, posted 25+40+22 in 70 WHL games with Medicine Hat last year, but as an overager. He played only 5 regular season games with them the year before, but played in 22 playoff games (7+8+18).

These are the only invitees whose numbers jump at me.

Update 21/9 - Motherwell and Platters didn\'t make the main camp; Mucha, Johnson, Todd, Perry, Ahnelov and Tikhonov did.

Update 23/9 - Mucha and Johnson were cut. The rest are still there.

    Blues rookie camp roster

Berglund and Oshie are in, of course, but Lars Eller, despite being signed by the club in May, isn\'t.

Not on forecaster roster and hence presumed on tryout:

    C Alexandre Imbeault
    RW Anthony Pelusso
    RW Ryan Reaves
LW Brennan Sonne (any relation to their 07 draftee Brett Sonne?)
    D Mark Cundari
    D Tony Dehart
    D Matt McCue

Imbeault had just over a point per game in the ECHL last year, and a decent 3+4+0 in 12 AHL games with Providence. He is listed as 6\'0\'\'/180, a huge jump from the 6\'0\'\'/148 listed on hockeydb for the former ~1.25 points per game QMJHL producer.

Update 18/9 - Matt McCue was sent back to junior. Guess they weren\'t impressed with him fighting Rangers\' invitee David Urqhart in their match yesterday ...

Update 19/9 - Imbeault, Sonne and Dehart were cut, Peluso, Reaves, and Cundari survived into main camp.

    Leafs rookie camp roster

With several Ds graduating or leaving, the Leafs brought over two of their European D prospects, Korbinian Holzer and Juraj Mikus. Neither is signed yet. Semenov, Vorobiev and Fs Komarov, Steber, and Volkov remain in Europe. Kulemin is not on the roster but I assume he was just invited straight to the main camp.

Dale Mitchell, an 07 draftee signed by the Marlies after posting 40+47+103 in 65 QMJHL games with Lewiston is also in camp. If he\'s signed to an entry-level contract during camp, you can take that as an indication they expect to give him a callup some time during the year (they don\'t have to sign him to the big club before 09).

Greg Scott, who turned 20 this summer, was signed as a free agent in July after breaking out in his 3rd WHL season to post just over a point per game for Seattle. He bears watching.

There also plenty of supposed tryoutees (they\'re not on the forecaster roster):

    G Michael Ouzas
    D Josh Day
    D Scott Langdon
    D Juha Uotila
    F Jadran Beljo
    F Joe Cooper
    F Dan Rudisuela
    F Thomas Stajan
    F Max Taylor
    F Eric Wellwood

(the names Stajan and Wellwood ring a bell from somewhere, don\'t they )

Ouzas, Day, Uotila, Beljo, Rudisuela, and Stajan posted strong numbers last year, but Ouzas and Rudisuela did it in the CIS.

Caps\' Rookie and full training camp rosters

No major surprises in the main camp roster, though they have brought back D Jakub Cutta after two years in Europe.

The main camp will also have several presumed tryoutees (not on the forecaster roster) in minor leaguers D Greg Amadio and F Darren Reid, as well as veteran and former NHL D Brian Helmer.

Alzner is on the rookie roster, as are Neuvirth and Varlamov, and they have brought back from Russia 2005 draftee D Viktor Dovgan. 08 European draftees Kugrishev and Gustafsson are supposed to be in camp as well.

Two players in the rookie roster seem to be on tryout (not on the forecaster roster): F Michael Dubuc and D Craig Switzer. Dubuc, 20, 6\'2\'\'/177, is coming off two straight point per game seasons for Ryoun-Noranda in the QMJHL; Switzer was a NSH 2004 draftee who finished 4 years of college this summer so it seems NSH gave up on his rights. Also worth noting is Jay Beagle, who posted a decent 19+18+41 in 64 games on an AHL contract with Hershey last year.

One absentee is D Andrew Thomas, a 2005 4th round pick, who finished 4 years of college this summer. It seems he wasn\'t signed.

    Finally, Sabres\' training camp roster

In case you were wondering, none of their Russian prospects are invited - didn\'t realize they had so many (Denis Denisov, Artem Kryukov, Maxim Scheviev, Vyacheslkav Buravchikov, Denis Ezhov).

Somewhat more surprisingly, Swedish D Denis Persson, a 1st rounder in 2006 who was signed to an entry-level contract earlier this summer, is also not on the list.

2 recent FA signings in camp are LW Derek Whitmore and D Mike Kostka, both signed earlier in 08 out of college.

Whitmore posted 27+10+33 in 38 games with Bowling Green (13 pp goals), but only 1+0+2 in 8 games with Rochester last year. At 5\'11\'\'/185 he\'d be considered smallish on any team other than the Sabres\' Still worth keeping an eye on given his goalscoring in college, which has seen a steady increase each year.

Kostka posted 9+12+20 in 36 games with UMass, and 2 PIM in one game with Rochester.

Luke Adam, Tyler Ennis, Jacob Legace, Nick Crawford, Tyler Myers, and Jordon Southorn are the 08 draftees in camp. It\'d be interesting to see how the 5\'9\'\'/146 Ennis handles the competition (\"Coach, coach, I just got run over by a zamboni\" - \"that was no zamboni, that was Paul Gaustad on the forecheck ...\&quot

    On tryout:

D Paul Baier, a college stay at home who was drafted by the Kings, and at the end of last season signed and then released by Manchester.

G Jonathan Boutin, a former Lightning prospect

G Ryan Scott, who played last year in lower division college (Oswego).
