Holy shit. Can’t believe this. it came out of nowhere really. Leafs trade Kessel, Clarkson, and Dion within, what, 365 days? That’s ridiculous.

Cowen and Michalek I guess will try to be flipped. Honestly not that bad for either team. Leafs get rid of 7mill in a deteriorating asset, some minor guys. Tobias Lindberg in 2014-15 in his first OHL season got 78pts in 67games, and has 22pts in 34games with the Binghamton Sens (AHL). And they get a 2^nd round pick.

As a Leafs fan I'm quite happy if for no other reason than to save the 7 mil and for Reilly to take over top PP!

I think Phaneuf will be ok for the Sens playing 2nd line and not having to be the guy.

Lindberg is a nice prospect, but he's a project imo. Good deal.

Dion won't play with Karlsson. He's going to be Ceci's partner. He's a great fit for the second pairing and they will get easier minutes. Phaneuf will have less pressure which I think is something everyone has agreed he would excel with.

as for a post above I don't know why the Leafs would try to flip Michalek. He's a good 200 ft veteran who can really help them.
