I like the deal for the Jets. Nice term. I was worried they'd sign him until his late 30s. He should still be very good at the end of this contract.

I guess the Jets have made their decision between Byfuglien and Ladd. They didnt expect to re-sign both.
FWIW, I think they made the right choice. It's harder to replace Buff than it is Ladd.

Well, as Buff owners, at least we know what to expect from him... and he's practically a LOCK to play D. I was sort of hoping to see him go to WSH or FLA in a deadline deal though. But he's a stud on the Jets and they'll improve soon. Good for him.

A five year term seems like a bit of a concession for Buff. But kudos to him for staying put and to the team for ponying up enough AAV for him to not test the market.
