I guess it was inevitable that Geno would miss some games.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Why I'll never slag guys like Sid, Ovie, Toews for skipping the ASG.

And so it begins! I guess it was impossible to have a Malkin season without an injury.

So predictable...always when fantasy playoffs on the horizon. God he is killing me when I need him the most. You all do realize it won't be just two games right...it never is with him.

It comes with the territory when you own Malkin.

I've owned him in my keeper league since his rookie year and every year its the same thing. I'm really considering unloading him at this point. Always burns me late in the season when it matters most. Frequently rests during my fantasy playoffs. I would love to see a stat on player production in the final month to see who rests and who ramps it up.

I wouldn't be surprised, that's for sure! We've seen it before. Somehow, his injuries always seem mysterious.

Malkin (knee) will not play against Anaheim on Monday and is listed as day-to-day, Root Sports in Pittsburgh reports.
Analysis: The center missed both of Pittsburgh's weekend games after dealing with knee pain against Ottawa on Tuesday. The injury has nagged Malkin for several weeks -- even though he participated in the All-Star Game festivities -- and he has dealt with injuries to both knees in the past. He hadn't missed a game in 2015-16 prior to Friday.

If there is someone that should have skipped the ASG, it's definitely him. I cannot believe he went even though he had a nagging injury for weeks. It would have been a perfect time to rest/heal. Seriously.

Agreed. Much better to have him sit out the game before/after the break and take the 8-9 days rest rather than 3-4 games now. Just silly, especially if he was being bothered by the knee leading up to the break.

This, x100. Kudos for him and the Pens for seeing the forest through the trees.
