In your ESPN Roto league, yes I would. Only way I wouldn’t would be if it was a heavy bonus on D-points.

I would 100% give my Klingberg for either of those 2 players.

Agreed. Confused though - the league says G - A - Pts - D Pts, so I'm assuming D Pts are not counted in the other categories? Either way, you have enough other trade bait that you could get a solid scoring D-man elsewhere.

I go back and forth on this a lot. On face value trading Klingberg for a Kane makes sense, because I mean Kane is going to get more points, done deal.

However, I think that with the top 5-6 D (Karlsson, Klingberg, Josi, Burns, Subban, OEL) or at least the top tier of D man, become more valuable based on the requirement to start them.

In your league you have to start 5 D so having a Klingberg as one of those 5 gives you an inherent advantage. It is almost like having another forward points wise, not as good as Kane, but more valuable then any other D man outside his tier mates.

Especially since your league seems to count D points and PPP points, the only way I would want to trade a Klingberg or equivalent is if I was getting a top tier forward who would fill the stats the same as he would AND fill another category as well like PIMS, like an Ovechkin.

Now having said all that if I was offered kane I would have a very hard time saying no. I cannot say this strategy is correct but it is what runs thru my head when I see a straight swap of D for F

Nope..D points count in a all cats they fit. So a d goal on the PP counts in 4 cats..G, PTS, PP and dpoints

I used to be in an ESPN league with D-Points, and it increased the value of defensemen dramatically, to the point where Erik Karlsson was on par with Crosby (and that was during Crosby's best years). But the league i was in was H2H, so it worked alot different than a Roto. In Roto, even with the boost from the D-Points category, I'd probably still want Kaner over Klingberg.

Probably. Any trade to improve your team is a good trade. 50 Point D in my league is worth 60 point F. So if I can get a 70 point forward it's a no brainer. Of course every league is different so a tool like FHG is helpful when evaluating D vs F value.

Now that Kane has another elite high skilled forward in Panarin (rather than guys like Shaw, Ladd, etc) he is showing his true ceiling, with a massive point lead on 2nd & 3rd place in league scoring. He is entering his prime at age 27 and should be a huge add for your team. No way I would even consider moving Kane for Klingberg and I am a Kane owner.
