Upcoming Trade Period

My fantasy baseball league is going to open soon for a period of trading before the draft. I have to pick ten keepers and I think I have it mostly figured out but am still struggling with last couple of spots. I want to identify who I should be keeping for sure before getting into trade talks because the league is pretty active. I finished third, with the roster in sig, last year and would like to build upon that by targeting some high AVG OBP guys and getting some more steals.

I figure these 7 are my sure fire keepers that I don't discuss in trade talks

It is the next tier and determining who is going to give me the most value as a keeper or in trade talks to get my wanted OBP AVG STEALS guy.
I had originally planned on keeping:

Hosmer
Sano
Champman

Which would leave my main trade chips as:

Fraizer (Loses 1B eligibility, already have Donaldson)
Dozier (2B seem to be valuable due to lack of them available)
Heyward
Carlos Martinez
Andrew Miller (league is adding holds as category this year)
Hamels
Pujols
Lucroy
Tyson Ross
McCullers
Papelbon

I am curious if anyone has a different opinion on who to keep? Or even has someone from the trade chips section that may be more valuable then a selected keeper.

What’s your position lock like? Your sig suggests it’s just Batters, and pitchers, but then you talk about 1B and 2B.

IF: Sano (if he’s 1B eligible. I think he’s just 3B tho)

SP: Cole, Sale, JF, Hamels (if Sano isn’t kept).

From what I’ve read on advanced stats on Hamels suggests he’s in for a solid year.98

I'm worried Sano is only gonna be eligible at DH but if he keeps 3B in our league he can play IF slot. Is he a better keeper then Fraizer besides the obvious youth benefits Sano does strikeout a lot, but the power is legit.

Im curious why no Champman? He got his legal issues sorted, new team with solid bull pen, GM already stating hes the closer seems like a good idea to keep a closer. I know they are volatile but at the top rung seems like a safe bet. But I understand Dozier at 2b valuable too, I have already had offers for him.

If Chapman stumbles then he’ll be pushed to set-up. With the 3-headed monster in NYY, who really knows who’s getting what role? I think they are all great players, but you can find a RP very easily who will get holds, or become the closer for a team.

Solid points on chapman, Dozier is more reliable for sure. However, weighing that against their value in the trade market, I could use some picks, would that make a difference at all?

If a trade makes your team better go for it. That’s the best advice I can say right now until a trade is shown to me.

Your offense is almost all set - protect the bats - Dozier, Frazier, Sano. That'll give you an elite offense, while having two elite arms. You might want to draft another pitcher the next round just in case Fernandez has some trouble coming back from TJ surgery.

Realize it is difficult talking about trades that haven't happened yet, just thinking value wise.

I agree djkiang on the drafting pitcher as I definitely want to target that along with the avg obp sb guy I hope to get
