Allen vs Elliot going forward

Allen started three games in a row now. Is he the "1A" for the forseeable future yet?

When Allen has a shaky start, it will be Elliott's turn. If Elliott gets on a roll, then he will string together a few starts. And on and on we go...

Hitch has said he wants to name a starter soon-ish. Allen is the heir apparent, goalie of the future. Jim Corsi said last year that Allen is the most technically advanced goalie he has ever seen at his age. Allen is the better puckhandler. If he continues to play well they will continue playing Allen. Elliott is a very good goalie, but he is the older goalie, as well.

I also wouldn't necessarily put too much stock into the past. I've read in a few places that STL wants a defined no. 1 goalie. It could hapen...

Interesting, I hadn't heard this about Allen. He sure looks good at the moment and is about at that age where goalies begins to put it all together (26ish).

Your right about Hitch, he said it before the season and again about a week ago, they want to anoint a starter after the first month and ride with him the rest of the year. Now saying a doing are two different things, we shall see what happens.

Exactly. The slumping goalie is easier to replace when there's a great alternative sitting there on the bench.

Well Elliot shat the bed tonight, things look to be swinging to Allen. In one league I had Elliot and Allen, I did a trade last week and traded a way Allen when it looked like Elliot had the upper hand, kicking myself now. I could easily of still did the deal with Elliot in place of Allen I think the Blues as an organization are wanting to give the job to Allen but he hasn't been giving them reason too, maybe that's changing

No kidding, Elliot really got killed tonight. I think St. Louis likes Allen more because he's younger but this year I think it will be a 50-50 split
