Gurley for sure out of that group. I would also roll with Randle. Don't be too concerned about the fumble. With the injury to Dunbar, Rabdle stands to be the benefactor in passing downs and should see some receptions to go with the carries.
***GO TO POST #5 FOR UPDATED CHOICES FOR WEEK #6***
(Don't read this post, no longer applies to current week)
I've got five "meh" RBs... not sure who to start this week.
Yahoo Proj Pts included
11.67 Gurley (STL) @ GB
10.80 Randle (DAL) v NE
10.10 Rawls (SEA) @ CIN
9.25 Morris (WAS) @ ATL
7.27 Crowell (CLE) @ BAL
I especially worry about Randle - who was pretty much yanked after his careless goal-line (non) fumble last week. I'm not sure what Dallas thinks about him. At least Dunbar is out, so McFadden can't possibly get the workhorse share... but the big concern is that D.McF gets the goal-line carries - a Randle forte through first 4 games of season.
Ah - dear.
Who ya pick for me?
Gurley for sure out of that group. I would also roll with Randle. Don't be too concerned about the fumble. With the injury to Dunbar, Rabdle stands to be the benefactor in passing downs and should see some receptions to go with the carries.
A.Morris needs to step up and it could be this week.. But I would probably lean towards Gurley and Randle..
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
Wow...tough one, Peng. Gurley.
Then I'm leaning toward Morris. I get the Randle argument, and do not disagree with it. But I am looking at floor more than ceiling here, and Morris leads Randle in overall touches, had 19 last week, and Atlanta is giving up the most FPTs/game to RBs.
Sooooo...that's my answer.
@SmittysRant
Looks like Gurley/Rawls was the correct choice.
No REP for anybody! LOL.
But... I still won my match-up going Gurley/Randle
Now to pick two from these three+ BUMS this week with Gurley/Randle on BYE.
Who d'ya choose, NEED TWO?
5.97 A.Morris (WAS) @ NYJ. Morris got a staggering 15yds on 8 carries last week... Matt Jones seems to be "the man".
5.94 Crowell (CLE) v. DEN. Crowell got just 49yds on 13 carries... at least he catches the ball some.
1.97 Rawls (SEA) v. CAR. Unf, if Marshawn is back... Rawls' is no longer in *cough* BeastMode *cough*
On the waiver wire:
Sproles (v NYG), Powell (v WAS), Vereen (@ PHI), McCluster (v MIA)
Yuck, I know.
Morris doesn't even deserve a roster spot any more. Too much of a timeshare with Thompson and Jones. He's been out snapped and the least productive. He had a cake matchup last week and did absolutely nothing. This is a Thompson game against a tough Jets D.
I would run to pick up Vereen here. Sproles may be worth a flier but Rawls I think is droppable atm with Lynch returning. They say he will be a part of the offense going forward, but then again, so was Jimmy...
So I would pick up Vereen and play with him Crowell (unenthusiastically)
Wow, this is an extremely tough decision you have there! All three RBs are up against top defenses.
I would consider picking up Vereen. He was Manning's main target when OBJ and R. Randle were on the sidelines in the 4th quarter. The success by passing to vereen at the end of the game should build confidence in Manning and the coaching staff to use him more.
A further stretch would be to pick up Sproles. The Giants defense has been stingy against WRs (http://fantasy.nfl.com/research/poin...53D6%2Creplace)
Therefore, they might try more screen passes and will rely on there three running backs more. Sproles always seems to have big games out of no-where. So if you fee like taking a chance... he might be an option. Big time Boom or Bust option here though.
Now who to drop for either of these guys... I would drop Rawls if BestMode is back 100%.
Morris doesn't do much receiving out of the backfield (16 yards this year). And he is against the Jets defense that is the 2nd best in the NFL per the above website. He just doesn't appear to be mr. reliable anymore.
Crowell is not a bad start this week - Denver is middle of the pack (per above website) when it comes to rushing defense fantasy wise. He has put together a couple decent games.
So to sum it up....
1) Determine if BeastMode is playing or not
2) If BestMode is playing - drop Rawls for Vereen
If Beastmode is not playing - drop Morris for Vereen
3) Decide if you want to take a chance on Sproles having one of his BIG games.
4) If yes, decide between dropping Rawls or Crowell for him.
If no, start Crowell and temper expectations to 40-60 yards and anything above is bonus.
For me I would grab Vereen and start him with Crowell

hold on - you thought Gurley was a MEH RB?
anyway I would go with Crowell and is Antonio Andrews or Charcandrick West available?
Pick the ones that cause you to lose this week.
I picked up Vereen - he plays Monday Night v PHI... at least that gives me another vested reason to watch game.
Bye-bye to 3rd round pick Alfred Morris.
(I'm sure he'll now go and become the next Devonta Freeman, who I dropped after an 18yd on 10carry performance in Week #1.)
Some pre-mature REP to those that suggested the Vereen pick-up.
