i would go with eichel (b/c of his potential), but his +/- will probably hurt you a bit this coming year..
So the keepers are set for the second league in my sig.
First overall is clear, but second isn't as much. There's chatter going around that the GM with the second overall pick, though he's rebuilding, is a bit of a wild card. My team is getting a little older, but with the right picks has a chance to win now (or again since I won last season).
Is Eichel a no brainer at 3 if he's available?
15 players Yahoo also thinks quite highly of that are in this draft:
Giordano, Foligno, Josi, Letang, Gaudreau, Tatar, Nugent-Hopkins, Duchene, Saad, Neal, Nyquist, Steen, Doughty, Turris, Bergeron.

With that List I would have to go with Eichel
In that setup, Giordano is an absolute monster... (bolded for emphasis of where he puts up big numbers)
G,A,+/-,PPP,SHP,GWG,SOG,HIT,BLK. Him over Eichel any day of the week. Look, I understand that this time of year everyone wants the shiny new bauble, but how could you possibly turn down a top-10 skater for a guy who might one day be a top-10 skater if the stars align?
I'd have to think that these guys:
Gaudreau, Tatar, Nugent-Hopkins, Duchene, Saad
Are all good young options.
hey might not be as high potential, but may give you close pts this year, with the added bonus of them not being a waste in coming years

I don't see any reason Eichel can't have the same impact Kane did in his rookie season. Eichel is my pick, but if you're not comfortable with a rookie, go with Nyquist (C/LW/RW) or Duchene (C/LW)
Agree with this 100%. if you're asking who is going to produce the most this year than it's Giordano.
The reason you take Eichel over him is 2-fold:
1. You think he'll have a pretty good year and are willing to sacrifice a little bit of immediate production for that massive upside.
2. You know the hype around him and think you can flip him to a re-building team for an absolute top, but aging, asset.
I would be tempted to have very preliminary conversations to determine what Eichel might fetch you from a re-building team.

Also, Giordano has a history of injuries, why him over say Josi?

I think if you go D Josi would be the most value (50+pts and young) He'll remain top pairing so don't have to worry about Jones pushing.
However, I'd pick Eichel, He's a stud in the making... but may take as long as John Taraves route. (but only if you can wait)

Personally, I'd have a very difficult time not taking Duchene there. Everyone is pretty down on him after his dissapointing year last year, but I still think he has PPG potential.
I like Eichel, but I'm not convinced that he's going to be an elite player. His upside may be a tad higher than Duchene's, but it could take him a number of years to get there (Think Seguin).
I wouldn't deal Duchene straight up for Eichel, so I think he's my pick.
If you want to go D, I'd have Josi ahead of Gio. He's younger and has less of an injury history. But I'd rank those players as follows:
Duchene
Eichel
Josi
RNH
Letang (He could be #1 if he could put together a healthy season)
The way the draft looks the GM with the first overall also has the 5th overall. In a crazy world he could end up with both McDavid and Eichel depending on how people value Eichel.
