I'd snag Allen and hopefully Elliott then becomes available a little later in the draft for the handcuff.
Would keep in line with your young team too.
I'm in the process of drafting for a new 14 team dynasty league and my first few picks look like this:
Nathan Mackinon
Jack Eichel
PK Subban
Tyler Johnson
Petr Mrazek
There was a massive goalie run that started at the end of the first round and went through to the beginning of the third so picking are VERY slim. Below are the available names I'm considering, I'd love to hear some opinions on these guys. Note that I'm not overly concerned with competing this year and my strategy is to draft young until the middle rounds, so I'd be willing to wait a year or so but ideally I want someone who will likely be a quality starter sooner rather than later:
Jake Allen
Johnathan Bernier
Martin Jones
Stalock
Vasilevski
Gibson
Lack
Hutchinson
Pavlec
Mason
There are also some old heads who are still available, though they don't really fit my team:
Luongo
Anderson
Miller
Elliot
Niemi
Lehtonen
I'll rep all thoughtful responses.
Thanks!

My gut says Vasilevskiy. I think once Bishop's contract is up, he will be on his way out. Tampa has too many forwards and D men to sign contracts to be able to re-sign Bishop. Opening the door wide open for Vasilevskiy.
My other thought would be Martin Jones. San Jose wanted him when he was in LA, and then eventually were able to trade and get him from Boston. They wanted him bad, therefore I think the starting gig in San Jose is his for the taking.
Brand new Dynasty, you might want to go with Gibson. He won't help now though. I would try and wait out Luongo and try and grab him later on the cheap. He will provide solid #'s until a guy like Gibson is ready.

Once I read the list Gibson was the one guy who jumped out at me. Allen, Vasilevskiy, Jones and Lack all have solid potential but all also have barriers standing in their way of success. Gibson is the highest touted and highest upside of those listed so if you're going young he'd be the guy I'd want.

I would go with Allen and gamble that Vasilevsky is available later. I'm pretty certain if all goalies or most are already snagged, those that don't have one will look for a current starter and the others who have one (or two) probably won't go after another one before round 8 or so.

If you are anywhere near a turn, I think you strongly consider going with two goalies to cover one team.
Lehtonen/Niemi would give you 82 starts from Dallas.
Elliott/Allen would give you 82 starts from St.Louis.
I'd prefer the Dallas duo as it seems like a team growing in strength and one will emerge as their #1 goalie of their future.
Also - nothing wrong with Steve Mason and/or Craig Anderson.
Steve Mason is only 27 years old.
Look at his SV% as a Flyer: .944, .917, .928.
Too many of us were scarred from his four consecutive .901sv% or lower seasons with CBJ - but he's not that bad... they just annointed him the franchise saviour and saddled him with so much expectations that he crumbled.
He's a decent goalie... and... again... only 27. (younger than Carey Price!)
Take Mason. With 27 he has the perfect age for a goalie, he's a guaranteed starter and his SV% is usually above average. Philly won't be so bad this season and should have a pretty good future.
If don't care about the upcoming season, then I think I'd go Vasilevski. But, I'd likely take Allen if he's not there.
RETIRED
1. Vasilevski/Gibson
2. Gibson/Vasilevski
3. Mason - if you don't mind losing him to an injury, big or small, once a year (I think he has good potential yet)
4. Allen - handcuff with Elliot (grab him much later on)
5. Luongo
With Vasi/Gibson you know you're going to get a bonafide #1 in 2-3 years time. As for the rest of them, question mark after question mark.

I don't really get it. Gibson missed 21 games with a groin injury and 8 with an upper body injury last season, he's a back-up right now and the No1 was pretty good in the regular season and the play-offs. So how is he a safer choice than Mason, who never had a serious injury in his NHL career and missed 7 games less than Gibson.

I like Mason here. I'm high on Vas, but for now Ben is TB's guy. Even in dynasty league, why would you wait for some goalie, who might one day become a starter, if you can get one right now.
You can get your prospect goalie in the later round.
