I think he could start at least 65 games next season so that he could get 40+ wins with a very good NY Rangers team....that means he sould be good for at least 80+ points.....Is he a no-brainer even if he eats 10M of my salary cap?
Thoughts?
Id put it this way, I think hes more valuable to your roster than Datsyuk and/or Staal at their cap number. Or, Soderberg for that matter.
Theres only a handful of King Henrik's, so Id certainly hold on to him and between him and Schneider you'll be rock solid in net. If you run into cap issues, Datsyuk goes first and then maybe Staal if he doesnt get back to his standard very soon. But, even if Staal does produce, 60-65 point forward are easier to trade for or find, then elite goalies on good teams.
I dont see Henrik getting 65 games though. Raanta should prove to be a very reliable backup. Between 55-60 would be ideal as he gets older. And, if Raanta can play well and gain confidence from AV and the staff, then Id assume thats their plan.
