2nd edition - Glorybe’s Off-season Fantasy Workshop

haha, I never really took the censorship into consideration, would have been something if Loch had to block his own team logo from the site! ...and then ban me.

I have the wily political instincts of a young Mayor Quimby... I probably would have picked up on the negative public sentiment around banning Glorybe and promptly flip-flopped.

I believe the phrase is:

“Very well, if that is the way the winds are blowing, let no one say I don't also blow.”

Amherstview Broken Sticks

EliasFan submitted this one, a small town in Ontario where he broke a ton of hockey sticks when he was a kid.

I went with a different take on the broken sticks, avoiding the obvious hockey reference, and going with a pile of sticks instead (more fun to avoid the obvious).

As you can see, the sticks are stacked up to form the letter "A" for Amherstview, with a single branch and leaf crossing it to form the "A".

The multiple lines on the jersey give the visual of numerous amount of sticks. I like the red Montreal Canadiens jersey, or the recent "O" jersey in Ottawa, where the lines go across the chest rather than below the logo, this sort of style fit extremely well for this concept.

I really wanted to incorporate a yellow option in the 10 logos this year, and with a name "broken sticks" I knew this would be my best opportunity. Yellow and green obviously are solid nature colours and really popped like the old North Stars jerseys used to when combined together.

This one is one of my favourites all around.

Russian Rockets

A big Pavel Bure fan, I decided to combine a Russian jersey and colours with the Bure era Vancouver Canucks skate blade.

The "Canucks" text that is in the blade was replaced with "Rockets" for the obvious reasons. Above "Rockets" the staple "RUSSIA" in russian on most of their international jerseys is written.

The jersey itself is actually from the 2001 Spartak cup where Bure played.

That concludes this year's fantasy workshop. (damn that was a long one)

Gotta say this year it seemed alot more difficult for me, not sure if it was life getting in the way or my creativity failing at times, but it never came as natural as the first year.

Thanks to everyone who entered and posted in the threads, it has not gone unnoticed and hopefully down the road I will eventually get to your team if you missed out this year.

I will be putting up a poll with all the designs, would love to hear your feedback to which one you preferred. All feedback is appreciated (good or bad) it doesnt hurt my feelings, (I'm a designer- we get creatively beaten all the time)
The top vote getter will get a personalized player with their jersey on it once again.

Just found this thread again! Great work once again!

I really like the broken sticks (maybe because they go well with my Marmottes Logo!) and the Rockets (really nice touch with the Canucks and Russia jerseys).
