Even if he was maybe going to get ice time this year he is still a long-term project for whoever signs him. He is 23 which is still young for a goalie, especially one that has not played pro hockey yet.

Ya I don't get it really. He's getting way more hype than Connor Hellebuyck got coming out of NCAA and to me Hellebuyck is the better goalie. Guess its just because he is a FA.

I want to grab him in my league just so I can trade him ha. I watched him a few times and wasn't overly impressed with him. It was a small sample size though so maybe he just had an off night. But overall I would rather have Hellebuyck on my team.

You can’t teach height. The things he’s not great at seem to be easy to correct by a legit goalie coach. It’s a free player they don’t use a draft pick on, worse comes to worse he is an AHL goalie without wasting a pick.
But the NHL scouts drool over 6’5”+ goalies. If they like stopping pucks and are tall, you can teach the rest.

There’s a goalie that plays for South Africa that’s like 6’7” 320lbs. Not a typo. Scouts will be looking at him again. But his GAA is like 4, save% is below 900, and he’s only against players that have the talent level of Canadian House Leaguers prolly.
