I feel for you Axeman. Here in Toronto, we just had the coldest month in history, but i'm sure it's nowhere near as bad as it is there. The snow is pretty much all gone here. Damn Alberta kept all the warm air out there.
I hope spring is closer to you than it is to me here on the East Coast of Canada.
I literally have about 40 inches, that's right, over 3 feet of snow still covering my back yard and that doesn't include the drifts and places where the plow has it piled up on the roadside. I am sure everyone on these forums who lives on the East Coast can attest with my claims.
Happy First Day of Spring! yay!

We're actually doing a lot better out here in northern Ontario. The constantly cold February helped us avoid the issues that come with the temperature going up and down too often. Main roads are clear and most side streets/driveways are clear as well. Still about a foot of snow left to melt. My snowblower wins the MVP award for handling some of the nasty storms like a true champion.
Hope you guys get some breakthroughs out east including no issues when the snow eventually melts.

That's rough Axeman. Sorry to hear.
We had a rough winter here, nothing by Canadian standards, but all of our snow has melted. We had 60s and a day in the 70s last week. Been in the 50s this week. Took the boat to a powerplant lake last Saturday and had a pretty good day fishing. Going to do it again tomorrow.

I heard that the east coast isn’t declaring this a “weather emergency” either because they have gotten enough experience from this winter.
I hate the winter to spring transition because by lake Ontario/Hamilton area it’ll bounce from 1C to -4C for about a month and have everything freeze and melt. Roads become muddy, and get my white car muddy, but I can’t turn on my hose yet because it goes below freezing at night. Spending a fortune on salt and car washes.
Good thing tho is that I can clean my desk and avoid work and no one questions it because I’m “Spring Cleaning”

Here in Edinburgh we were rewarded with a sunny 10C and a solar eclipse!
hahaha wow! We've had our share of snow here in NewB, but not as much as you. I still have about 3 feet of snow in my front and back lawn, and a little more than that on the side of my driveway (where I pile it up after each snow fall).
I wish we could just skip spring and right to summer. No more snow. Trade-in my snowblower for my lawnmower.
The drift on the right side is over 6' tall. I didn't measure the one on the left.
My snow blower got a good workout this winter. Great googly moogly!

It’ll be interesting how much flooding happens. But your lawn will be nice and green

My friend in Halifax was saying that there are no sidewalks! Been there, done that. I remember last year we were shovelling out in May. Spring appears to be hitting early this year in my neck of the woods. The fire base in the district south of me already has their engine online getting ready for spring grass fires. What a difference a year makes.
Downtown Halifax, there are pretty much no sidewalks even though the city is responsible to clear them. It was funny watching the news last night, they were showing all the pedestrians walking on the road with the cars. It was like something out of a movie or something.
I personally live about 20 minutes outside Halifax and were I am is almost a bit of a snow belt so I have more snow here than is in the city. I am headed up on my roof shortly to try and shovel off the massive snow drifts I have up there before we get rain tomorrow, then the freezing. Ugh!
