    Default Baseball trade advice

    Full keeper league.

I give- Jean Segura, Josh Harrison and Carlos Martinez
I get - Ian Desmond, Drew Storen, Nathan Eovaldi and Carlos Beltran

We have the following stat categories and weights:

    Singles (1B) 1.5 Doubles (2B) 3
    Triples (3B) 4.5 Home Runs (HR) 6
    Walks (BB) 1.5 Runs Scored (R) 2
Runs Batted In (RBI) 2 Stolen Bases (SB) 2
    Strikeouts (K) -2 Intentional Walks (IBB) 1.5
Hit by Pitch (HBP) 1.5 Caught Stealing (CS) -2
Ground into Double Plays (GIDP) -2 Errors (E) -2

    Pitching
Innings Pitched (IP) 5.01 Earned Runs (ER) -4
    Wins (W) 10 Losses (L) -10
Saves (SV) 10 Blown Saves (BS) -10
    Strikeouts (K) 2 Hits Allowed (H) -2
Walks Issued (BB) -2 Shutouts (SO) 3
Hit Batsmen (HB) -2 Wild Pitches (WP) -2
Holds (HD) 7 Complete Games (CG) 3

I am tempted but I dont really want to give up Carlos Martinez. I am getting a SS upgrade and a closer. I think I step back in the OF swap but Harrison is a bit of a risk himself.

I am more curious about Nathan Eovaldi in NY. I think the kid has good upside but is he anywhere near Martinez?

Ew no. Cmart is going to get every shot at the #5 spot with StL and he is waaaaayyyyyy better than Evo, his problem is he doesn't stay linear to the plate and falls off to the side. Same with early lance lynn or when lynn has a bad outing. I'm a Jhay believer and beltran is ready for the old folks home.

Well isnt Eovaldi also in line for a spot in the Yankees rotation? I am not sure how Martinez in the #5 spot makes him that much better. I know both have a ton of untapped potential.

You didn't even touch on the upgrade at SS and the closer coming my way.

Evo has been given the shot with his home park being a pitchers park, cmart was groomed last spring yet numbers pushed him to the pen. Watch this spring and see if he will challenge left handed hitters and retire them, if not then he's the same. If so then he will the break out pitcher for 2015.

    16 teams

My current roster looks like this:

    C - Gattis
    1B - Fielder
    2B - Gyrko
    SS - Segura
    3B - Sandoval
    OF - CarGo
    OF - McCutcheon
    OF - Moss
    UTL - Dickerson
    BN - Cain
    BN- Belt
    BN - Harrison
    BN -Iglesias

SP - King Felix, Santana, Quintana, Roark, Hutchinson, Hendriks
    RP - Rosenthal, Betances, RSoriano

Soren would be a replacement for Soriano, who I will probably drop if he cant find a team. Beltran will be on my bench until I need him.

Desmond is a huge upgrade over Segura. Desmond is a 20/20 threat who hits for close to average at a shallow position. Segura is likely barely rostera le last year and after the break the year before.

Next best player is Harrison if you believe last year wasn't a fluke. On your team Harrison barely plays unless he is 2B eligible. He is your 5th best OF and 2nd best 3B. Likely a big upgrade for your opponent but not a huge loss for you. Beltran is serviceable I guess but probably I just drop him For a Super 2 prospect with your current OF situation.

Storen is a nice asset as a potential closer. He was drafted for this role so hopefully they let him run with it.

Martinez is an upgrade over Eovaldi but we are talking about an end of roster pitcher here. There's a ton of pitching prospects and breakout stars every year. No guarantees he's even better than Heaney this year.

So does that mean you'd accept the offer?

You know the league better than anyone with a strange points system like that.

Normal value-wise I'd take this deal.

Desmond is an elite SS. He's an upgrade on Segura, who has had one good half season.
Harrison is alright. I don't think he's the star that he seemed to be last year.
Storen is the incumbent closer on what is likely the best team in the MLB.
Eovaldi got unlucky with his ERA last year, and he should be a solid starter.
I'm starting to wane on C-Mart. Sometimes you just never realize your potential. He's been a breakout candidate for what, three years now?
Not a fan of Beltran. Maybe he could replace him with someone else, or give you someone better than Eovaldi?

    183 Ks at -2 = 386 17 GIDP at -2 = 34 24 Errors at -2 = 48
    70 Ks at -2 = 140 13 GIDP at -2 = 26 16 Errors at -2 = 32

    Desmond -468
    Segura -198

You are in the 12-15 points a week negated by Ks, GIDP and Es. I'm sure you have point total outputs for the year of 2014 that makes Desmond way more sexy that Segura I don't buy Ian Desmond in leagues that count Ks.

I'm in a 7x7 weekly with R/RBI/SB/K/Avg/OBP/SLG as our hitting categories and it changes your perspective on who are really good hitters and who are 5x5 traditional roto Gods.
