Flip a coin. I have both guys and am gonna be pulling my hair trying to decide who to start in my weekly roto league.
Hey guys,
Just finishing up watching this minny vs Detroit game. I've had kuemper all year and recently fell into the dubnyk hype. I think kuemper just showed yeo who the starter is. Should I pick kuemper back up? He comes off waivers tonight (this morning...).
Thanks.

I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Not a coin flip for me. Dubnyk wins here.
Minnesota just played 4 games in 6 nights and finished up a back-to-back on the tail end of it. Dubnyk started all 4 - as crazy as that sounds. This was a scheduled loss and I'm surprised they went with Dubnyk…but they did. That tells you a lot about who they like in net when every point matters to them right now.
This is Dubnyk's team in my opinion.

Wish I were as confident in Dubnyk as you are. Maybe I'm snake-bitten by Minny goalies this year but it seems they are always getting pulled. This Wild team was the most over-rated team this year and now people are realizing they are not really a very good team. But I digress. Apparently the goals tonight were not really Dubnyk's fault so maybe there is that and this one bad game will be an anomaly.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Its true, hard to stop those re directs.
I would say (and their stats would say) that Kuemper is the more talented goaltender but he's a little messed up mentally due to the "holdout" at the start of the year and his agent's idea to demand a 1 way contract. Dubnyk is the veteran with a steady presence but I think his arrival in Minnesota along with Kuemper's short injury will have Kuemper back with much more confidence. I would imagine that Minnesota rides the hot hand all the way to the final playoff spot in the west and I think that this will be Kuemper.
Gotta go with Dubnyk. I think that if it was a timeshare, Kuemper would've started the tail end of the B2B. Kuemper is the long-term answer but just not pulling his weight this season so far.

Great thread discussion so far. My money is on Dubnyk, not because I picked him up after he got traded but because Kuemper simply hasn't delivered the goods this year. That being said, I'm sure happy I decided to bench Dubnyk last night.

Momentum is important. Dubnyk has it now and Minny needs wins immediately. Can't say no to him down the stretch. I think Kuemper bounces back but that might not happen till the last minute.

I like Dubnyk here. He's only had one bad year statistically and if given the chance I think he will thrive in Minny. I just don't have faith in Kuemper.

Suprised by how many people a going with Dubnyk here. Kuemper is young and there will be ups a down but he is the guy both longterm and this season IMO. Dubnyk just aint that good.
I totally agree. Once the novelty of having a new toy wears off for Minny, and reality sets in that Dubnyk should be in the AHL, Kuemper will be back as the #1. I think the fact that Kuemper is a Minnesota draftee makes a difference as well. They will give him every chance to succeed.
Depends on the league format we're talking about here.
If it's a keeper I'd take Kuemper for sure. If it's a one year you've gotta go with the momentum play - and that's Dubnyk.
For what it's worth I owned Kuemper for the entire season and recently dropped him for Dubnyk in my cash pool.
