sorry for the double-post....but urgency to this ...
not the least of which is risking league members reading this and scuttling my deal (not that i think they'd stoop to that)

have a likely deal giving Luongo, Bjugstad and a 2nd for QUick and a 5th ...which by all accounts seems like a no brainer, right?

or is it?

i am having a hard time getting my head around why JQ is such an upgrade. His starts are not that great. Luos are better.

Luo has consistently higher Sv%, and their GAA is comparable, and Ws usually go to JQ, but this year the Cats are turning it around, and Luo looks better there.
I even looked at splits and JQ is no better post-allstar than pre (thinking that the Kings will likely turn it on -- but they are mediocre in the reg season.) The Willie Mitchell factor is going both way on this too...

I dont know -- am I nuts? I just do not see the rationale for JQ being a tier better, a dozen spots better in the rank, top 5, etc etc.. and is he worth cutting this deal.

In a keeper, i'd go JQ. He has more value too so in the near future you can even trade JQ for a better keeper (Tier 1). Luongo may have better stats this year, but plays on a less good team and is older. Because of that his trade value is lower.

I say yes go get Jonathan Quick!!

just had a major case of second guessing ... as a Canuck fan i have a soft spot for Luo and distain for those excellent bastard kings...

Go with quick here , Loungo is a depreciating asset

Despite his age I'd keep Luongo over Quick. The rest of the deal would obviously be a big loss.

id for sure go quick... especially in a keeper league. i believe quick is 7 years younger than lou? worst comes to worst down the road i believe you can get more than lou and bjugstad for quick.

Yeah, I'd probably do the deal, but try to get him to drop the swap of draft picks, so a straight 2 for 1. I actually really like Bjugstad, but in your league's format (keep 14), you have more than enough forwards to protect over a guy like Bjugstad. I don't think he's the next coming of Getzlaf, although I guess it could happen. I'd take the deal, especially when you consider the age difference between Quick and Luongo. Typically in 2 for 1 deals, the 1 side wins.

Your league doesn't include hits or FOWs, two things that help Bjugstad's value. In a keep 14, Bjugstad seems very bubblish for keeping anyways.

I'd rather Quick, but agree - if you can drop the draft picks from the equation, it's a better deal.
