Help me out this year and next just for points. I have an offer on the table for him and just want to know if I can trust him going forward.

I would think he ends up between 50-55 pts.

he has been remarkably consistent throughout his career, with a total 0.65 points-per-game for his career. St. Louis is destined for great things, so 50-60 if he stays at his current pace, but maybe 70 if he and his linemates really get going.

25-30 goals, 25-30 assists per season with excellent FWs, hits and pim numbers. his pim numbers are low so far his season though lol

STL is a pretty defensive team and if Tank & Schwartz are scoring, it means that STL's other lines can play a bit more defensive.
I think the rise of Tank/Schwartz will hurt Backes in points-only and I wouldn't forecast him to top 55pts.

Anybody worried about his recent concussions? I am worried that it might cause him to hit less with a lowered amount of PIMs.

I got a trade offer for him in one league that counts HITS/PIMS for Tyler Johnson... I don't mind if all he is this year and next 50-60 points as his peripherals are excellent but anything lower then 50 isn't that great.

i agree with the projection for Backes but I always want to point out that St Louis has been getting good at generating a ton of offense while still being responsible defensively in recent years. Last year they were 7th in the league in goals, a single goal behind offensive teams like San Jose and Pittsburgh. A lot of guys chip in, too.

and yeah, to echo the others in this thread, Backes is the definition of a multi-category guy, not anywhere near as valuable in points-only leagues. A lot of guys will get you as many points as Backes.

50-60 points should be the expectation.

I think it's a good time to be selling on him IMO. He's 30 now, and with his style of play he's going to regress quicker than most.

Well {shaking head}... I'm sort of baffled that you asked about points if it is for multi-cat.

So, you might make the trade if Backes is a 55pt player but you wouldn't if Backes was a 48pt player.

Probably equivalent to about 20 or 30points, I'd guess.

I'd definitely take Backes in PIM/HIT multi-cat for Tyler Johnson.

I posted in a separate thread, couldn't get a response so I posted it here. I know how good he is as far as multicat but I didn't want to roster the second coming of Dustin Brown ether meaning regressing to 20-30 points.
