Default Been offered Giroux SU for Ovechkin

I'd like some of your opinions, objective ones...not haters, but real opinions.

    My breakdown is as follows:

I think Giroux is a better option at this point in his career, here's why:

    Ovechkin last three seasons:

Last year: 79 points in 78 games
    Lockout year: 56n in 48
    Year before: 65 in 78

    Giroux:

Last year: 86 in 82 (3rd in league)
    Lockout: 48 in 48
    Year before: 93 in 77

Giroux is younger and as much as OV is a sexy name, he is just a name. Plus this year, Giroux has started kinda slow again, just like last year, so I'm thinking he's about to pick it up....and he has 6 points in his last 5 games.

I can get him SU for OV.

What do you think? This is just the hard numbers. Thoughts are appreciated and of course rep for all.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.
    10 rounds of drafting
F: Crosby, Point, P. Kane, JVR, Kopitar, Rakell, Tarasenko,
D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,
    G: Bob, Shesterkin, Demko, Kahkonen

Looking at points only and your settings using forwards only, I would choose Giroux.

But just to add, based on your post, then I would go with what you think regardless of our opinions. You seem to have your mind made up already.

Oh and to comment on Giroux starting slow, he has 15 points in 13 games! What are you expecting?

Points only I would go with Giroux. One thing to add, he's shooting a good amount, but his % is really low. Once that adjusts to the mean he should start getting more goals, and I could see his production improving as a result.

I woiuld do it but /i/ thin k you can get a little more - like a pick upgrade. Think about it, the guy obviously is enamored with the OV name, so make sure you trade on that.

Yes but OV is one of those guys who can go off for 8 pts in 3 games. Tough trading a guy like that.

I think Giroux is the better option at this point in their careers but if you try to upgrade, make you you don't scare off the Giroux owner.

Thanks guys. I took your advice and just completed the deal.

I got Giroux and a 2nd round pick at our supplemental draft plus a 7th pick in 2015 for OV and a 10th in 2015. Rep to all of you when I am allowed to give it out.

Thanks very much for all your thoughts and suggestions.

I think you did well. I like that you got the upgrades on your picks as well. Points only I'd give the edge to Giroux but a little. Worse case, you break even and the picks help you out.

This............or even push for an upgrade at another position instead of the pick upgrade.
