TM is not completely wrong here. But I have a couple of questions for him.
1. Was someone in your league or in your office walking around talking about how great Kyle Turris is? Or are you still just bothered by someone doing that five years ago and it just sticks in your mind? To me the charade ended a couple of years ago and it has actually been reborn via this thread you started. (2012 called - they want their topic back)
2. You were asked this earlier, I think by RaTaylor, and you skirted the question. Was he the best player to be taken third overall? And if not, who? The point given was - Subban and Benn were passed over by all the NHL teams, so you can't say them. Pick a player in the first round you would take ahead of Turris. Keep picking players and let's see if you knock him out of the Top 10. Taylor brought up a good point - if you say Couture, would you be saying that seven points is the difference between 'star' and 'bust' to you?
Given that, in hindsight, of the Top 30 players that all teams were looking at, it looks to me as though Turris should have indeed gone in the Top 10 and if not Top 5...maybe the entire draft was just weak and relatively speaking Phoenix did well to draft Turris when they did.
