At this point, take which ever one will actually play more games. The smarter move is probably to look for someone else besides these two.

normally i would want kane but they are both injured and im not clear on the return date of kane, dubinsky should be around the end of november but with kanes im not sure, give me kane just because i like his potential, but it could very easily end up being dubinsky due to them both being injured and he comes back before kane

I'll probably be in minority here, but give me Dubinsky.

In a one-year league, I like Dubinsky who should be given a big role as CBJ hunts for a playoff spot.

Evander Kane... I'd prefer if he was on another team.
I still believe that is a possibility and PHI still seems like a sensible trade partner.
They are one good player away from being a playoff-caliber (albeit, still not very good playoff team) in the East.

Meanwhile, if WPG trade E.Kane away for youth/picks... they may be able to slide a little closer to the Western Conference basement... because they have ZERO shot at playoffs in the stacked West.

    My rankings:
    E.Kane (playoff contender)
    Dubinksy (CBJ)
    E.Kane (WPG)

Dubinsky had abdominal surgery. I don't trust surgery to the core. I like Kane here.

Been a Kane believer for 3 years straight. Disappointed last year, but still waiting for that 40 Goal breakout to go w/ 80 PIMS.

This that surgery scares me will it take the Edge off Dubinskys game? I don't want to be left holding the bag

It's hard to remember since it was 6 months ago and because Dubinsky hasn't played since, but he was a BEAST in the playoffs. For sure there's a chance he dialed things up because it was the playoffs, but I for one thought he'd turned a corner toward becoming an honest to goodness multi-cat beast.

For those curious, here's what he posted in just SIX playoff games:

    6 points, 6 PIM, -1 rating, 23 SOG, 1 PPP, 40 Hits, 61 FOW, 2 Blocked Shots

With Columbus on the rise and Dubinsky assuming a leadership role while he's also at or near his prime (age 28), I see very good things happening.

As for Kane, there's always the what ifs (what if he gets traded, what if Winnipeg turns things around, etc.), but to me those aren't enough to hang my hat on.

In this case considering all the injury variables and team changing possibilities I will go with one of my commandments......ALWAYS take the player with the highest trade or resale value.....every league may value these guys differently so that's your call.
