Unless the third string goalie plays because of an emergency call-up and puts up a stinker of a game. Or some other long-shot situation.

Yeah I can see how that could backfire if you would never pick the back-up, ie. Bryz over Kuemper for example?

Pengwin, can you confirm the rules on picking expected back up goaltenders? Are all goalies that play on any given day going to be ranked and points awarded accordingly or are only the starters available? It would likely be simpler for you if you made it so only starters or only team stats counted but it's your game, so you make the rules.

Good questions of clarity, I'll add these to opening thread.

1. Yes, all starting goalies (ONLY) are eligible and will be ranked. Thus, the number of ranked goalies will always be 2 x #NHL_Games_That_Night.
2. If you pick a goalie by name (say Pavelec), you will get his rank points ONLY if he starts. If he does NOT start, it is consider a voided/null pick.
3. If you wish, you can pick "____ Team Goalie". This will get you rank points for the starter on that team that night. (i.e. "LA Team Goalie" will give you points for whoever starts for LA).
