Iron Maiden has to be in the story song master class. Their discography is 90%+ story songs. Right off the top of my head, Piece Of Mind, all nine tracks are story songs.

This is a good one too. Not a mainstream hit, but probably most relevant considering what's going on in Gaza.

This song always gets me, so great.

What annoys me about Hero of War is how it was released as a mainstream single something like two or three years after the album was released, just because it had kind of blown up somewhere. Then the record label reps would try to push Rise Against as some sort of mainstream soft rock band, which is obviously so very not the case. It's a good song, but how it was used just gets on my nerves.

The first one that came to mind was Cash's "A Boy Named Sue", but it has been mentioned already.

Also love the Axeman's selection of "The Mary Ellen Carter". If you have never listened to Stan Rogers, do so. Many of his songs tell great stories.
