Imo no chance they wanted this deal done, but they had to for pr reasons.
I think he is a trade candidate in the next few years still.

I tend to agree here. It's not a steal or anything, but the best players in the league get paid like the best players and Subban falls into that category.

it's not even close to a steal. There is no other way to classify it but overpayment, which they had to do to save face.
This is is a great deal for fans of other teams in the division.
