Wow, that seems like more then he should have gotten since he's relatively unproven.

Kind of sums up some of the more recent deals we've seen... Probably too much for year one but by year three that could be a bargain

If he can give 35-40 points and grit, it will be well worth that money.

Decent enough deal since it's all UFA years and basically Ducks bought Maroon's prime years with this deal. He still had a year left in his old, minimum salary deal so they have Maroon locked up for the next four years now. If he can keep up his level from this past season, it's a good deal deal for the Ducks. If improves, or really breaks out playing with G & P, they hit the jackpot with this deal. If he takes a step back, well he should still contribute somewhat from the bottom-6 with his size and grit, so there isn't much downside on this deal.

2M feels fair to me. A guy that can be your enforcer but still slide up and down the lineup and contribute ~30 points is pretty good.
He's also been a very good AHL payer too so for all we know he's just rounding into form and he can become a 40 point guy.
Great deal for multi-cat cap leagues.

That's enough money to keep him in the mix on the top line, but not too much to guarantee him a spot there. Very interesting.

Great signing. I really see him as a fantastic sleeper if all the cards fall right. If not...likely means heatley has rebounded which is interesting in and of itself! I'll be watching this story closely!

Also throw a guy like Silfverberg in the mix. Lots of us around these parts still have very high hopes for this guy.

Maroon, Palmieri, Etem, Silfverberg. Theyre all in the same mix in my books.

Last season he had 29 points in 62 games, almost prorates to 40 points over a whole year as a rookie. A sleeper for sure that has a great chance to build on last year.

Solid signing by the Ducks IMO.

Surprising money, but I guess when you really look at it it's not too bad. As mentioned above, almost a 40 point pace last season and if he's able to complement Getz and Perry for a full season, who knows. He would be a steal at that point, but even if that doesn't work and he sticks on the 3rd line it's still a fair price.
