Who'd be the captain then with both Gionta and Gorges now gone? I've heard some rumors of Markov not wanting that pressure upon himself, is that true? So if not Markov nor Subban, who would it be? Plekanec or Weaver? Bringing Saku back for one year to mentor PK to be the captain?
I hope a legendary franchise like Montreal isn't going the way of a season without a captain. Although I think they already did that when Koivu left?

If Subban signs long-term: somewhere around $9M per season.
If Subban signs short-term: somewhere around $8M per season.
He's probably asking for $10M while the team is offering $8M, so they'll probably meet in the middle if they want to get a long-term deal done.
